Heres a question and I want to ask people in the game before I bring this to the mods.

I want to app AI character who has a humanoid robot body. Would you rather see:

A- start out as someone's laptop and gain sentience and go up from there?
or
B- Start out as human and start turning androidy-robot?

I think it has been stated that characters do have to be a living creature. That's why the whole Transformers cast is human.

Though if the mods did allow it, there is a character who creates robots in game and your character could be a random creation of his as well.

....I did not know this. Okay Im going to go check around wow. If its in the FAQ Im going to feel silly in a moment.

Anyone got a link to where they've said this?

I think it's implied, not really said, since what was said in the FAQ was that each character needs to be a "terrestrial creature", loaded word being "creature." I don't see why you couldn't ask the mods about your take, though!

Yeah Ill write my argument, give it to the mods tomorrow and let them decide.

Im still not sure if Im apping this character or another one should they say yes- if it doesnt work out with that one character I guess that'll settle it for me.

Due to game mechanics, all characters must have had a soul/spirit/essence/whatever of some kind in their original canon, and also must definitely start out in the game as something that could have a soul as well- AKA, either human or an animal. So, yeah, you could get away with apping an AI if you think you could explain or handwave enough to justify them being reincarnate-able, but they'd have to start out organic due to the way the system works. I hope that helps!

And, I'll look into making this clearer on the FAQs and stuff too, so no worries there.

But yeah that makes a lot of sense and actually that works perfectly for ANOTHER AI character of mine (from a different canon) as well, though she's a bit more human-looking than the other one.

Now I have to take this and decide which character to app after finals...
