Hey fellow older player! I just wanted to tell you you're not alone in that feeling. I have it too. Continuing to be invested in the game does feel an awful lot like a chore nowadays, though the feel I have doesn't stem from 'uncreative posts' or 'boring events'. The way I see it, the events are still creative and the posts are still on the same level they used to be.

To me, it does feel like the game changed, but it's because of the playerbase. Back when I joined and delved into my pinnacle of ultimate RP funtimes, it was alongside completely different players. Very few of them still remain today and you can tell most of them aren't as involved as they used to be either. I look at the event plotting threads and I see a lot of characters I don't know and have no CR with, but attempting to start that with all of them is something I don't have time for. Not anymore, anyway.

From my perspective, Luceti has grown too big for all of it to hold my interest. It's not a grievance to the point that I want to drop the game entirely- it's just that I always need to put thought into what I decide to spend my time and energy on, because it feels like there's too much going on to keep track of all of it.

Also, while the underlying 'plot' of Luceti does still continue, it feels like there's less to gain from trying to do something with it. I remember back in the day when the NPCs first appeared and all characters were bombing them with assorted questions. The challenge was to phrase the question just right to get new, interesting information. Nowadays, it feels to me the NPCs are just filler to introduce new events, missions and drafts.

It's sad, because he had a really interesting plotline going where the cultists ritually murdered him so that he would be 'freed from Luceti's cycle and never come back', except John did find a way to bring him back to life anyway.

What was up with that?

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who still wonders what that whole issue with "you're presence here harms your worlds" was. Maybe it was confirmed it was false and I missed that confirmation. Or maybe it has been forgotten as it seems to have happened with other things of the plot.

I think it was confirmed true (at least as far as the NPCs know) so I'd lean more towards forgotten.

I think someone mentioned a couple months back that it was retconned or something?

If it was, that would be rather good to actually mention to the players since it can be found mentioned in many old posts and there are characters who go and look back at that stuff.

They should just make a post that says "things that have been retconnned for the sake of the plot" so that older characters aren't still giving off the wrong info to people.
