Please tell me you're going to make an effort to tag outside your cast.

why wouldn't I? what's wrong with the Who cast?

Half of them are great! The other half I never see unless they're talking to each other, or they drop threads from non-castmates. I also played with two in a multi-person thread and one of them completely ignored the actions of every other character except the other Who in their tags, like we weren't even there, which was the rudest thing I'd ever seen.

Again, it's not the cast as a whole, but I'm wary of them because they're getting so big I'm worried a lot of people are joining for the cast, not the game. But if you're going to tag out then we would love to have you!

Which half of the cast should we newbies try for CR with?

11th Doctor, Theta, Rory sort of (see above thread I guess?), and Oswin are who I've had good luck with, personally. With Adric it's been hit or miss, sometimes he does a whole thread with me but he's dropped me a lot too. I've never tagged Sarah Jane but I see her around some? Idk about the others. To be fair to Charley and 10, they're new.

This is just my experience, of course. Others may have had better or worse.

+1 to that list for who's good. i feel like the bigger this cast gets the more insular and cliquey they become.

oswin is hit and miss too. sarah jane doesn't really tag out. i haven't seen charley tag anyone outside of the who cast yet but she's new. we'll see about 10.

To be fair to the whole cast, the cast is huge so there's a lot of people to tag in the cast let alone outside it. I don't think any of them would ignore you if you tagged them.

The whole reason I started this thread was in frustration that I'd been dropped or ignored by them in favor of their castmates, though...

except people have been ignored by them. having a big cast isn't an excuse either, most of them aren't that involved in the game anyway.

Not really. They named some good people and some people who are new and get excused. Who are these people who are ignoring people and have no excuse for it? And if it's only one or two people, why are you throwing mud at the whole cast for it?

not sure why telling you to read more carefully is mudslinging. it's probably safe to assume the people they didn't list as good are the insular people they're talking about. and ftr i agree with them.

By "Idk about the rest," I really meant "I've tagged them but they dropped or ignored me." Admittedly I didn't phrase that well, but the ones I didn't name I have not had good experiences tagging.

It's more than one or two people. By taking out the good people I've named, we've got Amy, One, the TARDIS, and the Master left, which is equal to the number of good people I mentioned. Rory, as others have mentioned, can keep threads going but sometimes the mun themself is hard to deal with (I don't know them OOCly though so I can't comment on that), and Oswin has been mentioned as hit or miss as well. As I said, Adric has threaded with me completely a few times but also dropped me quite a bit. Sarah Jane was the only one I didn't know about at all, but other anons have said they don't tag out much either.

So going by all that, 11 and Theta are the only ones left as reliable taggers. That's two people in a 10 person cast (12 with Charley and Ten who are too new to judge), which are not very good stats.

That said, this isn't really mudslinging. Our Who cast is good playing wise, and I'm sure they're very nice people OOCly, they're just very insular, and people like myself are worried that a growing cast will only make that worse.

just because it's only one or two people outright ignoring doesn't mean the cast isn't cliquey in general. outside of those good ones mentioned they are. that's your answer. that anon won't specifically name the ignorers because it would out them.

When I was new it was really frustrating trying to get into cliques and casts and I'm having way more fun now that I've stopped trying. My suggestion is not to search for groups to work into, but to start tagging choice players who are more openminded towards people outside of their group of friends. A lot of the reliable CR mentioned above is a great place to start. But tbf, some of our casts are great about crosscanon threads, like the OUAT players.

good advice in any game

The OUAT cast is what I like to see in a game- they play and plot with each other, but they also spend more time playing and plotting with people across the board, and the muns are good about pulling others into their plots instead of keeping it inclusive, so even if the cast were to get huge, I don't think much would change.
