Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Re: HANNIBAL
(Anonymous) 2013-04-13 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)First, you'd have to do a hell of a lot of reading, both of the canon materials, and outside reading about psychology, serial killer mentalities, recipes (because even if his choice in food is weird, he does know how to cook), research about what his life would have been like during childhood based on WW2 information and Hannibal Rising (a terrible slog in and of itself according to even book fans), etc. There's all kinds of obscure stuff you'd have to know to play him with anything more than just superficial surface traits.
And with the most famous fictional serial killer in pop culture being played, does anyone really think the player wouldn't get infomodded to hell and back, especially by people playing heroes with ~gut feelings~ or just not wanting to get their character eaten?
It's just a hell of a lot of work for pay-off that may just not be worth it to most people. If someone wants to try, though, I wish them all the luck.
