Personally? I'm not even sure why people keep namedropping him. He's not terrible or anything, his characterization isn't bad but I'd say he's mediocre at best and the mun isn't a very good writer. I'm not sure whether to begin suspecting self-namedropping at this stage or not.

Agreed. They aren't terrible, but they definitely aren't worth all the asspatting either. There are so many better characters and players in this game.

And look what that turned into?! This is not the first time I have seen a positive namedrop get derailed by wank at RPA in recent times. Who cares if they keep getting positive namedrops? They must be doing something right in the eyes of a number of people and to those who don't like him? Create another thread in here to discuss that rather than spew negativity over what somebody else likes. Or, instead of whining that they have appeared, yet again, people should make their own namedrops so other people know what they like.

something that doesn't make a lot of sense to me is how this character can be played in a game at all when he's technically a psychological delusion/off-shoot personality of the main character of the book. this isn't a complaint, i just don't understand how this works. and does this mean you can app in any split personality you choose from any character in any medium? i mean, he doesn't have a body of his own and isn't a 'real' person.

yeah exactly. because if you can app tyler durden surely you can app any split personality as a whole person, and no offence meant to the player in this case, but to me this really makes very little sense. though an explanation/clarification might change my mind.

I don't know if this is how the current one is doing it, but I know the original Tyler Durden we had had him as The Narrator, but Tyler Durden was the primary personality that surfaced in Atia because he fit the setting better and could cope better, so the Narrator didn't make as much of an appearance. At least that's how I vaguely remember it.

I'm not sure how they're working it this time but if it's literally just Tyler and not the Narrator with Tyler as the main surfaced personality, that's... really weird because they've denied characters for being figment versions in a persons head before and it would be hypocritical to let a split personality in when someone's imaginary friend isn't, I'd think.

Second Hand info here but as I understand it. That's what the mun WANTED. I guess the mods won't let them bring in The Narrator unless it's a powers event? I know when they posted something from the Narrators POV they were asked to take it down.

Replying as a mod - We are fine with Tyler displaying The Narrator's personality. He apped in with both on the application, but chose to have Tyler be the dominant one and with with that, his appearance. We asked him to take down the post or edit it so that it was Tyler's body being shown because he used the physical appearance of The Narrator, for which he does need to have a powers event to have as changing physical shape/appearance is a power on the island, not just a state of mind. He chose to take it down.
