Personally? I'm not even sure why people keep namedropping him. He's not terrible or anything, his characterization isn't bad but I'd say he's mediocre at best and the mun isn't a very good writer. I'm not sure whether to begin suspecting self-namedropping at this stage or not.

Agreed. They aren't terrible, but they definitely aren't worth all the asspatting either. There are so many better characters and players in this game.

I don't know if this is what you're getting at or not, but for me personally it has nothing to do with Tyler being an LA character. There are plenty of great LA characters in the game who are more interesting and engagingly played than this one. He's not bad by any means, but he's not great either. And I find it unimaginative that the player sometimes uses dialogue taken straight out of the book for their posts rather than thinking up something similar and in keeping with the character but also original.

nah that wasnt what I was getting at. i was poking fun at the way a former post went when someone made a list of their favs and anons ripped into it for being all live action

well is it really so surprising that people are butthurt over the divide? the medium divide just gets worse and worse in this game as time goes on. any LA that i've ever tagged with my non-LA character has been dropped after no more than a few tags, and in the randomization I got paired up with LAs who (surprise surprise!!) haven't bothered to get back to me to plot and have therefore scuppered my chances of being involved in this part of the event.

That makes me really kind of sad.

It wasn't until this game that I even thought about playing with anything other than LA because I didn't know how to make it work in my head - if that makes sense, probably not - but the first time someone commented to my LA character, it just clicked and now all of my characters have significant CR (at least to me, I hope their "friends" think so) with people that aren't LA.

Here's what I'm sick of: People using "medium divide" as a crutch. Look at your character, look at the choices you make with them, look at how appealing they are in general, look at your writing. Take ownership for yourself before victimizing yourself. Tag out. If you are consistently ignored then bring it up to the muns who you're attempting to tag out to - HMD them, do something. Stop whining about it.

In short: Be the change you want to see.

well to any anon who might weh weh at me for that:

finding those took me all of like 5 minutes. that's now not bad the medium divide is. i've been in games with fucking huge medium divides that were painfully obvious, and amat is not one of them.

but you know what amat does have? some fucking really bad characterizations and unappealing characters, on all sides of the mediums. i wish people would actually study the game before bringing in a character that doesn't fit-in at all.

yeah, there're all those ooc plotting threads but how many of them will actually follow through?

I'm more then willing to plot with my partner, who is an anime partner, but they're not responding to my pms/etc.
