I'd also like to add that a thing that I have quickly found helps me is that I do the set up for my next month's smut in the current month, which helps with the pacing as well.

What I mean by that is, for example, I make sure that in the last few weeks of March, I have a log starting up that will eventually lead to sex. That way, I get all of the pre-sex stuff done in March, and then the *smut* is in April.

Maybe that's not really how things are supposed to work, and my AC has just snuck under the radar, but that's seemed to have worked fine.

But yeah. If the reason you aren't making AC is because you can't get your character to a point where they are having sex, either you need a different game, or a different character. Not all characters work for all settings, and not all games work for all players.

That sounds perfectly logical to me - it's the smut comments that have to be from the month in question so I don't see why it would be an issue to get the lead-up out of the way in the month before so you know you'll have activity of the right sort in the right month.

this is what i do and it works well. this lets my smut threads have more natural buildup and some cr development incorporated instead of just being mindless smut.
