Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Harvest Moon CR/Shipping Game

[personal profile] theharvestmods 2013-02-27 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hello, all. I am so sorry it's taken me this long to put in an appearance - I'm afraid I've been caught up in a few things!

Accordingly, I'm afraid that concrete work on the game has, up until recently, been slow-going. But I thought that those who were interested might like to see how it's coming as some proof that it is indeed going! This'll be the game's mod journal, and what I have up is in its entries!

I'll be straining away at the plow pushing for an opening date o-o-of shall we say March 25th? In the meantime, while everything is still under construction, I'm opening what there is to your observation and comments, suggestions, and feedback.

Especially tentative points:
- Heart Level thread number requirements. Given the balance between IC and OOC time (one OOC day = three IC days), what do you all think would be most reasonable?
- Limiting the game to OU characters and original-universe OCs. Should AU and fan characters be allowed to any extent?

Coming soon:
- Introduction and rules.
- Meme community.
- IC bulletin board.
- Setting description and (most likely rough) map.
- NPC journal - including "Sprite Station", through which the Harvest Sprites will be ICly available on request for advice, assistance, etc.
- NPC descriptions.
- Shop/business write-ups, inventories/services offered, and price listings.
- Bestiary with locations and benefits of taming the setting's less conventional creatures.
- Explanation of the setting's magic.
- List of available Heart Rewards to be updated every OOC week - this, however, I'm unsure where to place. Should it be in a mod journal post, the Harvest Goddess post, or maybe even the main community?

is that day count supposed to be 1 IC = 3 OOC instead of the other way around

Aah, how embarrassing - yes, it was meant to be one IC day = three OOC days. Thank you for pointing that out!

I feel like the Heart Level thread requirements should be a little higher otherwise the more active players may have their characters reaching high heart levels quickly.

Understood! They were more placeholders anyway - but even so, I suppose I'm used to playing at relatively lax-paced games, so feedback here is especially helpful. Where would everyone suggest tweaking starting from somewhere along these lines?

Black to Purple - 3 threads
Purple to Blue - 4 threads
Blue to Green - 6 threads
Green to Yellow - 8 threads
Yellow to Orange - 10 threads
Orange to Pink/Red - 12 threads

I think that actually may be good for now since it's meant to be a lax, face-to-face game. My experience is more with network based games so face-to-face may slow threads down a bit.

Maybe if you notice people upping hearts easily later on you could consult the playerbase about possible changes but it looks like a good starting point.

Could you clarify this line of the FAQ because I don't understand it:
Characters can, on the other hand, become ill, and theoretically die of illness or age. But don't trust the NPCs - and, hopefully, their friends - to let them die of sickness!

Of course. Characters can get sick, and they can theoretically die of anything serious, but it's unlikely anyone let alone the town doctor will let that happen.

I apologize for the clumsy wording!

Thanks for the clarification. It sounds great so far!

Thank you, anon! I'm glad and heartened you think so!

My personal opinion leans toward allowing ou, oc and maybe au but not fandom oc.

For the heart rewards I'd say the ooc comm would work.

Gotcha.

And how do periodic (perhaps every other week) Heart Reward availability posts to the OOC comm including any new rewards and ones not claimed from the last post sound?

Either every other week or maybe once a month sounds good.
