so how we feeling about this plotty stuff?

i for one feel fantastic

the horrorterror debacle continues to snowball on and on

gonna admit I'm not super into it cause it really seems like if you haven't been involved with the horrorterrors up until now there is basically no part for you to play in all this endgame stuff. the main players are the ones who have been trucking along with it for a long, long time, which I guess is fair? but at the same time, it feels like everyone else is just hanging around to watch

hey for what it's worth anon this isn't the endgame stuff

obviously endgame's getting built up to but this isn't really it; this was a character specific point of drama whose consequences are feeding into eventual endgame situations along with some other stuff (quite possibly including stuff we don't know about yet, because anything anyone does has the potential to affect this)

but trust me when it comes to actual endgame nobody, hopefully, is going to be left sitting on their thumbs wondering when they missed the boat to get involved unless they're on hiatus until the last few days of the game or somethin'
it will definitely not be comprised of just masturbatory drama about the same group of characters, is what i'm saying

oh! well, I'll admit that does make me feel a bit better. I guess that just wasn't made clear or I misunderstood, but I thought this was literally just the first part of the endgame plot. if you guys've got something else planned though, I'm eager to see it. :)

Nah, like, I'll be completely real with you - up until about a month ago I wasn't expecting any of this shit to happen? The whole Sollux being a double agent thing was originally intended to draw the horrorterrors further into the background while he distracted them for a few months...but then a bunch of really stressful stuff happened to sollux which broke down his ability to function considerably, and then he ended up with Theo's mad science spark super power thing during the power swap which kind of made it impossible for things to not explode right here and right now.

This HT plot was entirely just an idea I had to create a potential way to get Sollux back into the game after that mess - I was fully prepared that no one would take them up on it, and I had back up plans for Sollux if that was the case. But it's just one of those chain of effect deals that logically had to happen and people could do what they would with it. The deal the players ended up making wasn't something I had even considered when I made the original memo.

So we found a way to work it into endgame progression and here we are. We really aren't joking when we say that we make decisions based on what players do. The entire scope of the game can change based on one event, which is something that happened here.

And I know that people are sort of sick of the HTs which is why they really are keeping to their word with this - the HT aren't going to do anything until the two months are up, or at least very close to the end.

Leaving a convenient amount of free space for all the other stuff we've been developing to come into effect.

i'm not crazy about it, to be honest. at this point i'm just tired of the horrorterror plot in general.

i want more prospit/derse/skaia stuff

which is why we pointedly took the opportunity to shove the HTs into the background with recent events. they really don't plan with fucking on anybody until the two months are up.

the only reason they had to get collateral was because otherwise it would have just been OOC stupid on their parts.

Personally I am not really feeling the fact that the entire game seems to revolve around Quix's characters.

i think this is a case again of people not bothering to interact with other parts of the game. sollux is involved in the ht stuff, yeah. he and signless have nothing to do with prospit. it's steph who's leading that charge. madame's the one going after poppy. mary's heading up frogs. you want to get involved, contact one of their muns. or hell contact theo's mun. he's got shit going down with his denizen and those are important, too. or you could do something with derse. with archagent jack noir. with any of the npcs there. nothing stopping you from trying to lead that. if you've got a problem with quix, we also have more than one mod. talk to harry or z.

Yeah, it kinda sucks. I really wish more people could have important plot points in the game. Like Bertie or Jake or Usagi or Theo or Mary or Madame...
