rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. if you could build in a compelling reason to take civilian characters and keep them involved, that might keep the playerbase from skewing too heavily towards the military side

Civilian characters (from Earth) would largely be brought there as part of a 'lottery' on Earth. You know, you sign up for this once in a lifetime opportunity and get selected to go. Offworld people would just be able to freely come to the place if they're merchants or want to take advantage of living alongside Earth people. Especially if they happen to be refugees of some sort.

Getting involved in the city beyond typical Slice of Life stuff may be a challenge at first. But there's possibility and ones I'd explore before opening a game. Like, for instance, maybe they're allowed to visit previously allied planets or accompany an established Stargate team as a trainee.
