rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Okay, took all of your input. Fleshed out the idea a bit more today.

I added more jobs and locations. Not the enormous range of places you'd find in a large city, but everything a decently sized community would likely have.

-Schools (A single primary school and a single secondary school, which would mean that younger characters can attend and older characters can work there as teachers or such)
-Bar
-Inn
-General store
-Clinic
-Post office (people who work here deliver mail to other characters)
-Library
-Woodcutter/carpenter
-Blacksmith
-etc., still not done here

In keeping with the fantastical/weird vibe the source material had, I'm considering adding witches/wizards (they won't have a regular paying "job", but I had the idea of taking away characters' powers as soon as they got into the setting with them having to work to regain them. In exchange for not having a steady source of income, these characters would keep whatever powers they had upon entry.

If a character without powers wanted to be a wizard/witch they could too, so I'm seeing how to make allowances for that.)

Also, bums, mad scientists, and artists/musicians.

For the characters who wanted to be farmers, I also had the idea to separate them by types of farm. So you could have a chicken farm, take care of livestock, or grow crops, but not all three.

One thing to consider might be only a few characters actually owning farms and other characters can get jobs helping out.

Of course then you'd need to come up with a fair way of choosing which characters actually own them.

Also don't forget mining and fishing for other ways to get money. You were probably going to think of that yourself anyway but, I felt like mentioning it.
