rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. It doesn't look like DW can handle 5,000 comment entries at the moment so please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. Players or characters, anon? I know one of mine is abrupt and abrasive and will occasionally cut conversations off short because they see no point in continuing to talk to someone - which is a canon trait, and one they share with a small collection of other characters in the game. And I'm really hoping that hasn't put anyone off tagging me, since I'll tag forever with my more gregarious character.

To be honest, I'm not familiar with the majority of the characters OR players in Abax, so for all I know, it could be the characters in some cases.

For the record, it's not dropped threads, it's more just a sort of general... terseness? It's hard to describe, but playing a somewhat unfriendly character myself, I'm certainly not saying that IC unfriendliness = ooc unfriendliness!

I'm just talking first impressions here, pretty much! Some players have simply given me a much warmer reception than others.

If you're not sure, maybe try chatting with the players OOC a bit? I know some of the tersest characters in the game have the sweetest players, so they could either work with you to generate CR around their characters' monosyllabic asshaberdashery, or point a friendlier character in your direction if it doesn't seem like that would work.

And if they're unpleasant or uncommunicative OOC, you know who you can avoid without missing out on anything.

I could try that! And I probably will at some point, once I get over my own shyness. But in the meantime I have met and had great threads with some very nice people so don't worry, I'm not like... trying to lay judgment on the entire game.

I just understand where the people who have felt a somewhat unfriendly atmosphere are coming from and figured I should bring up my own experience.
