rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. It doesn't look like DW can handle 5,000 comment entries at the moment so please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. I think it might be a mixture of both. I've got a few friends who grew up RPing, and they reached their 30s and just continue it because it was what they were used to.

I'm only 23 now, but I've been RPing for ten years. I've already learned how to work real life, from jobs to school and then some, around adminning, modding, and just playing in games. I'm actually not all that tech-savvy, especially when it comes to the new DW coding, but I have a feeling I'll just juggle this around future children and husband(s) (but hopefully just one husband) in the future.

I once played in a game where another player was 51. She had five children, one of which was 17 and played in the game with us. Apparently neither of them had a problem with it, and when they were having random mother-daughter bonding time, they would chat about plots together. They were actually really adorable.

I also used to RP with a guy who was half my age. He actually thought of me as a daughter, and our characters had a very father-daughter feel to them. After talking to both of them, and a good handful of others, I realized that RP isn't really a hobby I have to give up. I might choose to take a few breaks when I'm out of college and doing the whole career-and-family thing, but... I honestly think I'll be at it until I'm too old to juggle both.
