Rundown:

rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

what do you do when you get a tag that is a wall of text that makes you suddenly question everything you've been doing with your character thus far...? :(

i write a reply that is ic for my character and whatever length it needs to be and i hit the button that says 'post comment'.

it might help if you explained why this is making you question everything you've been doing with your character. more detailed than you? they put more thought/work/depth into it? you're annoyed that their reply was so long? are they making you feel inadequate or do you think they suck?

it was a wall of text of their character overeacting to mine as if I was being grossly ooc...? because mine disagreed with them?

Why are you adding questions marks where they are unneeded? It gives your statements this annoying inflection at the end, like a valley girl's?

why do people get mad about this

Because it reads as indecisive and/or passive aggressive, depending on context. I read it as people who are unwilling to claim or admit to an opinion, and are subtly asking if their opinion is okay.

yeah basically what the other anons said. i've seen it used PA-like a lot so i can definitely see where you're coming from. i'm not trying to come across like that, i just don't want to project my feelings as fact since i very well could be interpreting this wall-o-text tag all kinds of wrong but i wanted to come here and maybe get a second opinion or ideas or discussion, while still being vague enough to not directly give myself away.

and i was asking too because it was hard to understand the context.

i see why you were annoyed. i would try to take the tag as an IC thing and try not to let it make you insecure. being able to support your characterization is good, so you could use the tag you were talking about as food for thought if you wanted to, but i hope it's not stopping you in your tracks anymore. :)
