But still, sucks though if its acceptable. I had a friend interested in playing Tony at Abax, and against the Loki, but whatevever.

Your friend should bring in Tony anyway. We do accept AUs, so that could be a possibility?

That's not the point, though. It wouldn't be the same Tony from The Avengers, and the fact that the mods knew beforehand that it was Loki's mun makes it kinda :/ just because you're immediately losing potential CR with other castmates. No one could mention the events of the Avengers to the OU Tony because he's going to want to speak to Loki. If someone tells him Loki went and invaded his tower in New York he's not going to ignore that.

Yeah, that's pretty obnoxious and playercesty. One of the main heros of a canon should not be played by the same person who plays the main villain. And even if they apped before seeing Avengers, it's not like the cast of that move hasn't been advertised for months.

Yeah, that's still shitty for everybody else in the cast who now can't even mention Avengers canon to them because it might cause them to need to interact.

imo, that's actually almost worse. It feels like the mods know damn well it'd be a problem but didn't want to deal with whining if they said no, so they gave the mun a cheaty workaround.

Maybe it is a little sketchy, but from what I've seen, the mun play these dudes is mad quality, and I'd rather know Tony's going into good hands than worry about a subpar Stark coming into play.

Their Loki sucks, their Tony is passing. Not mad quality.

That's honestly kind of unfair, to imply you'd rather prefer playercesting over giving someone new a chance.

I myself had debated on apping in a character from Avengers, as had a friend of mine (the one who wanted to app in Tony), but now neither of us can properly interact with the Tony or Loki because it involves an interaction that is playercesting. :|

I'm all for good Tonys around (and Avengers casts in general), I just think it's extremely off putting for two central OU characters in MCU to be played by a single person.

I've seen better of both. Also, a mun playing both a main villain and a main hero of a movie that is breaking records in the box office and has been incredibly popular on D_M and RP in general since its release? Unfair. Mods should have declined that app to give someone new a chance to play.

Mad quality? We're talking about the same person who played Loki as best frands with AU Charles Xavier, and who helped look after Sif the first time she was in the game?

And that's not even really the point. Even if they played both characters perfectly, it's still a problem for them to be playing two main characters from such a popular fandom in a game like Abax. It shouldn't have been allowed.

Don't forget the sudden change to evil by doing EVERY blatantly evil thing. Not even subtle planning and manipulations and plots. Stealing people's things and being made known he did? Killing people with his own hands rather than manipulating others into it? Laughing at everyone openly after the mall failed to return?

How is any of that Loki behavior? That's typical 'I don't know how to play a bad guy so I'm doing EVIL things'.

That's weird behavior given that I think his canon point is early in Thor? So even though he does act more dramatic in The Avengers, he should still be at the point where he's more manipulative and calculating instead of crazed from everything that's happened to him. Going between caring about other people far more than he has in either film, to acting way more over the top than he should at that canon point, doesn't make for a great Loki.

What Abax!Loki reads as is that video of Hiddles going around doing 'LOKI'D'! Doing ~~nefarious~~ things and laughing madly at them for no reason at all and letting everyone know it was him.

Remember when he sacrificed peoples' lives and things to Byron? Why would Loki ever do that? All he got from that was the chance to say 'Hahaha! I did bad things to you! Fear me~' while simultaneously helping the others get the mall back. Neither of those things are ever anything Loki would want. To tease people or to help people. It's just another example of 'I'm evil look at me~' behavior.

Wait, wut? BFF with AU Charles Xavier and looking after Sif? This isn't an AU Loki?

It was only a couple of months ago that he was doing all of this. Then when he was called out on it he transferred his attitude over into what the anons described above about his evil stuff.

Nope, this was OU Loki. He started off in game like this, and then later he transferred to doing really OTT 'bad' things which, like the anons above said, weren't any more in character than the friendly things. If he were being played from The Avengers it would make more sense, but he can't ever be updated to that point.

Ugh. Are the AUs in this game any better?

Well, I like AU Charles. He's got a well defined background that makes him different from OU Charles.

Generally though, I don't have the same problem with any of the AUs, because the fact that they're AU means that deviations in their personality and behavior from their canon variants is expected. In an AU I mostly look to see whether their behavior is consistent, and for AU Charles it definitely is. I will always prefer a well-developed and consistent AU to an OOC OU.

There's 2 Rogues, last I checked, one is 616 canon, one is X-Men movieverse (which I suppose counts), and of course the AU Charles. We had an AU Erik a while ago but they dropped.

Seconding the anon above, I do like the AU Charles if you ignore their questionable decisions (aka Burke). I haven't paid attention to much of the other AUs in game so I can't speak for the Bleach cast at least, but I do like the AU Peter Petrelli.

Oh - hmm. I was thinking of apping an AU Loki or Thor this upcoming round. Is this really going to get in the way of castmate CR?

Well what it mainly means is that you'll never be able to see all the OU Avengers assembling and fighting against OU Loki, because the Loki and Tony will never be able to interact. Judge for yourself whether it'll get in the way. Personally, I think it's problematic. Tbh, I don't see how what the mods have done is even a workaround, because it doesn't prevent the other Avengers from updating to the film, and surely if they did it would be IC for them to get in Loki's face anyway. Maybe that would be less of a problem for you if you were playing an AU character.

Personally, I'm not a fan of OU Loki's characterization. I can't judge on the Thor since I don't think he's as active as Loki. I would be interested in seeing an AU of either of them!

I hesitate to judge on a lot of Lokis, because there's a lot of wiggle room in exactly how you interpret Loki's actions and motivations. I haven't seen this one play, so I can't really say, but. I don't think either of the AUs would be all that interested in uniting against Loki. Which I guess helps.
