Okay, not helpful, but still...

Just curious, is there any pairing that is monogamous in here? Or NO ONE believes in monogamy?

I mean, I know IC-ly there are characters who *omg love each other*, and most people actually keep a lover to just screw their lover. Yet, I don't see that here?

I know oocly this is a game for characters randomly screw others, but I'm talking about IC. Would all characters icly refuse monogamy even if they have someone they love deeply?

There are others better qualified to comment than I as they've been there longer, but the general IC belief is that, given sex is required to survive and that Loki can randomly "take people away" (ie, drops, death, canon updates etc), it is prudent to keep partners other than just one monogamous lover so they have someone to turn to in times of need.

However, no, not all characters would refuse it! There have apparently been quite a few couples who have attempted monogamy with varying degrees of success.

My character is more like what you describe - he is mutually in love with his main partner, and he occasionally gets jealous of his partner's other lovers, but they know it's best for them not to be completely monogamous.

I can only speak for my characters, but one of them is heterosexual and sees it just as a necessity to survive, so he has sex with whoever is close to the game-imposed time limit when he needs it too, since he doesn't plan on actually falling in love with anyone in Vegas. The other is bisexual and polyamorous, but he doesn't sleep with any joe shmoe on the street, he sticks to the small group of people he trusts and cares for.

Out Of Character, I see it like this: DV is a boys-only sex game. We're already bending the IC-ness of most characters apped, so why not go the extra mile and have all the sexy fun we want? Everyone who apps in knows it's just for silly buttsex funtiems, so I think we all just reached some kind of conclusion of "yeah, whatever, we can do this" at some point.

I sort of know how you feel about this question, since I too wondered about it. And personally I have a lot of issues letting my character have sex with others at random. The way I see Mello is that, in the current game situation, he'd probably stick (ahaha stick /is a child) to having sex with someone he knows (like Matt), rather than search others for sex. Basically, he'd be monogamous in a non-loving way. More like in a "I have no idea who the hell these other people are why would I fuck them when I have my best friend here" way.

I've been keeping that up for this past month and Mello only had sex with two people so far. And after analyzing it from this perspective, I think it's a burden to keep our characters monogamous in a sex game and I have been proved that.

Not only you would be putting a burden on the mun who plays your character's love interest, but you would also limit yourself. You try to keep things IC, but in order to do that you are deviating from the game's whole idea which is to get your character to have sex with otherS (c'mon, it's a sex game, we all know why we are there).

I know that because that's what I've been doing this month. So seriously, just avoid it if you can. Either use Gokudera-mun's reasoning to come up with a IC reason, either just assume they are polygamous, or that they will never fall in love. Makes the game a lot more fun if you can.

I second all of this. I'd also felt Gokudera would ICly stick to having sex with his close friends, especially since he has a Tsuna and Yamamoto there and he's a canon loner with a certain shyness about sex. Then I discovered the same burdens you speak of and deviations from the fun of the game/reasons for some great CR and character development.

So I've had him go through some IC adjustments to his mode of thinking and it's actually been a really fun process! He doesn't need to be 'easy' but it also means he can sleep with someone if he strikes up some chemistry.

yup. It's a bit hard for me to get used to it still since I truthfully can't see Mello ever going around sleeping with people; not that he is shy, it's just he is. wellp, not interested in people?

And I really do want to keep everything IC, but I have to think: if Mello won't be sleep around, why did I join in first place? That's why I'm also doing IC adjustments and figured out a plausible reason for him to do it.

this is my first sex game, so I'm still trying to get the hang of everything, that's why I sorta understand why the anon would ask this question XD

I just got show'd this today, and since the question is kinda answered in foreverness by ppl there longer than myself.

The one thing I wanna say to you refers to this line:

Even though we've established IC they're not "Love" loving :< even if that's only ever how it turned out. You'd /never/ be a strain on me ever. And I wanted to de-anon and say it in a public place because I mean it.

It'd probably get monotonous, but I'd be more than glad to write daily threads with you on any topic any time. Aside from the 'limiting yourself' part which I agree on. I expect about as much fidelity as Matt does from Mello but I really really really hope you didn't think you were a strain on me at any time.
