I really don't know what to tell you. Everything I know about the situation, I said in my previous comment; whatever has happened here was not meant as some sort of slight or move to take the concept from Mara before she could put it into action. The idea for SoD was put forth independently, literally, an entire year after the idea of RoT was pitched and then set aside for the time being.

I am sorry, and do feel awful about this. However, I will not apologize for something that I did not do and don't have an actual conscious hand in. While there is nothing I can give or say to you in order to eradicate all doubt on this matter, I wish there was some way we could come to an understanding.

this game looks super cute but I only know like one player here and my canons are all super obscure so I'm kinda worried...how friendly/welcoming has it been so far, honestly? do most people know each other already? and what kinds of characters would you guys like to see the most, if I do decide to app?

holy shit would I like to play some non-"superhusbands" Tony/Steve. tbh the whole superhusbands shit makes me rage. would I like them to have a long, happy relationship? sure. everyone deserves one. and Steve would definitely be the type who could give that. but just look at Tony's personality. he's too...fucked up and pathetic to maintain a healthy, happy relationship. and that's not even goign into their sexualities and the fuckall that would bring.

I just want some clashy not-sunshine-and-rainbows superhero fucking. why is this so difficult.

because clearly you only have the right to your own ideas if you act on them immediately. if you don't its totally legit for someone else to take it and file off the sereal numbers and call it their own. sounds totally reasonable.

hey it's been a while since avatar came out. i'm making a game set on pandora! it's totally original and all mine cause it's been such a long time since someone else came up with the concept. nothing fishy here, nope.

what you did with the game idea is bad enough. what you're doing now trying to justify it and act like you did nothing wrong is maybe even worse.

i hope all your players see this so they know what kind of shitty people they have modding their game.

What I said was that we did not try to steal anything. I fully admit there are similarities in the premises and that Mara had them "first" by putting it all out in Road of Trode last year. Accidents happen, and ideas get reused in the world constantly. Nothing is completely original, including Sky of Diamonds.

Nor did I ever say I did nothing wrong, just not what you're accusing the mod team of. Hawk has repeatedly said she doesn't remember RoT being spoken about, and I believe her. Does that mean she and I weren't influenced by the idea? Maybe not. I'm completely willing to acknowledge that maybe the idea came from something we couldn't remember the origin of, but I'm also not willing to say with certainty that is where it started. Post-apocalypse and "we are feeding you a story you have little reason to actually believe" are not things that Mara made up, simply something many of us have utilized in our time as storytellers. At this current point in time, it's impossible to tell.

EDIT: What I meant by "an entire year after the idea of RoT was pitched and then set aside for the time being" above was that it had plenty of time to fade from consciousness, not that some sort of copyright had expired after so long.

Eirin actually is a "god". Canon, mostly SSiB and CiLR, implies that she is Omoikane, the Shinto god of wisdom, and hence her relation to Lord Tsukiyomi. Though she's probably more like Sanae, but either way, she doesn't have the "faith" factor. Either way, she's considered god tier because of her intelligence, experience/ability, and sheer ruthlessness more so than her ability to craft drugs (which she can turn into attacks anyways).

I guess Byakuren is considered high tier because of the magnitude of her magic and how it was described in the recent fanbook. Akyuu does a good job of selling her as this female Buddhist Übermensch, but there's no telling how much of that is IC narration flubbing, or if she really is that badass.

Saying this as someone who plays a character from an obscure canon, the game has been really welcoming so far! While I do know quite a few muns from the game, most of my tags have been with people I have never spoken to before. I'd say it's pretty welcoming.

TOTALLY IGNORING THE DRAMA BENEATH ME... but yeah, i've been watching sky of diamonds for ages, haha! i admit i'm a bit of a creepy stalker, and everyone there is so amazing with their characters. it's so fun watching you guys interact with each other.

I don't think they'd have an easy road at all. There would be messy, and Tony, and confusion, and Tony, and clashing, and Tony, and fighting, and... Tony.

I don't think it's impossible to play out the ship at all, I just think that like so many slash pairings out there people tend to warp the characters to fit into a fluffy framework and circumvent all the mess and damage that would be involved in a ship like theirs. People like fluff more than they like acknowledging flaws. Like an anon said above, it's specifically how difficult the relationship would be in reality that makes it interesting to me.

i came in knowing literally no one and play from a very obscure canon. honestly i was in it for the forced cr and the game opening because i've had problems in the past getting involved in games that have ~cliques~ or whatever. i haven't gotten a single cold shoulder and people have been absolute sweethearts and willing to tag all over the place. my house-mate is really understanding about backtagging and other people seem to be ready to tag until the end of the world. i sort of love this game, haha.

and as far as what i'd like to see more of? some teenagers or younger kids, honestly. there seems to be a slight disparity between the number of children and adults. i might be biased since i play a kid, though.

i hope you give the game a chance!

Half the RPs out there are about being fed a story you have no reason to believe. You guys stole a lot more than that.

Everyone here is only talking about MCU Tony/Steve, right, because I have no idea where this 'incompatible personalities' thing is coming from if we're talking about comics? 'Mom and Dad are fighting' (616), shoot-some hoops-and-grab-burgers-in-the-park (MA) comics?

...Actually, I don't even think they have 'incompatible' personalities if we're talking about the MCU!verse. They clash in many ways, definitely. But just because they clash doesn't mean you have to 'warp their personalities' for them to get along, or get together. It would take development, yeah, but Avengers was their first prolonged interaction, there is going to be development. The interpersonal strife we saw between them in Avengers isn't the be-all, end-all of their characterization when played against each other. In fact, taken post-Avengers, I would side-eye maintaining that to the same degree as in the movie, because although saving the world together certainly wouldn't resolve all their personality conflicts, they definitely know a lot more about each other than the snap judgments they were initially tearing into each other for, and respect each other more.

I thought they ended the movie on a great note for getting to know each other better in the future, however hard or easy that might end up being with all their respective issues. I certainly don't see any kind of insurmountable personality barriers that make the idea of pairing them up any more far fetched than any other pairings (that aren't Tony/Pepper and Steve/Peggy, of course).

That's what I meant, that it's pointless because they're all on one page. It's also confusing since they don't all say the same thing and there are different numbers of filler comments in between the real thread comments. I know that's nitpicky, but is it so hard to keep it uniform?
