sometimes i look at those characters that pop up in RP in droves and have leagues of weird fans and how poorly played they tend to be and how many people complain about them, and start thinking "you know, the sheer fact that i'm not enamored with this character could mean i would be decent at them if i gave them a shot"

that's me being an asshole because it's easy to say that you'd be good at something you've never tried, but i can't even count the number of characterization mistakes i've seen that clearly happen because the players love the character too much. what a weird dichotomy.

I'm really enjoying my current character roster. I only have three active, but they're all different enough that they're easy to keep distinct and fun to play for different reasons - sometimes I have a bit of trouble with the voice for one character, but I push through it and people seem to enjoy him so I don't worry too much.

What's making you happy with your rp lately, anons?

I admit to being confused but grateful that my workplace, which supposedly doesn't allow unnatural hair colors, allows the blatantly dyed light brown underlayers of my hair. I'm Asian; when I interviewed, said layers were still almost red and I was surprised they hired me anyway.

We got some new blood in who is very excited to be in the game, and that excitement is contagious! They're nice and polite and tag fast and have tons of ideas of what they want to do. The more I chat with them and bounce ideas off them, the more they bounce back with me and get inspired.

I love this feeling! It reminds me of when I joined my first game and everything was shiny and new and no amount of internet distractions could keep you from jumping on that tag the second you saw it pop up in your inbox. When you were so excited with a post that you wouldn't even use and inbox, and would refresh the page, and there would be a new tag there every few minutes. I want to bottle this feeling up and share it with everyone.
