rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

okay. i still hold to the fact that if someone is ignoring narrative because they 'can't differentiate between that and dialogue' means they're only replying to what's being said and not what's in the brackets. that's shitty rping. i've played with a lot of people who do that and i opt not to play with them anymore. if something important is in the brackets or prose, it needs to be read/reacted to. and that includes short tags too. if i wrote a tag this length and someone ignored most of it because only one line of it was dialogue, but i had something that their character should have reacted to in the action part, i'd consider them lazy or someone that i don't want to rp with, because they are missing everything and that equates to potential godmoding or just replying incorrectly because hey, my girl just kicked a puppy while walking, but she didn't say anything about it, so no reaction? come on.

if you're taking 1k words to write that your character kicked a puppy and spoke a line of dialogue, you've only got yourself to blame if someone decides they're not going to read all of that. i can't think of a single reason for a tag to be that long that doesn't mean it's 800 words of introspective waffle that should be in a fanfic, not an rp tag. and if it's not just introspection then you're the one more likely to be godmoding.

you're also making big assumptions about op. there are actual medical reasons why someone might not be able to read big blocks of text. poor cognitive function and inability to concentrate is a side effect of long covid among other things. no reason to call them "lazy".

if you actually read the comment you replied to, you'd see that i mentioned it being a tag the same length as that comment. so you are indeed one of the people i would prefer not to rp with.
