Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Super Robot Wars Unification
What does it mean to be a hero?
Obviously you cannot just declare yourself one. The title of "hero" comes from actions and acknowledgement of others. But what if public support for you and your allies is waning? Will a hero still be one if people turn away from him?
SRWU is a small, multi-fandom crossover DWRP inspired by and named after Super Robot Wars, a popular franchise of turn based strategy games based around giant robot combat.
About the setting
In SRWU, the Earth Sphere is under attack - rampaging monsters, alien invaders, even human groups who pursue an agenda of hostile intent, all of those are threats to humanity. To combat those threats, a joint effort organisation was formed: Unity Group, controlled by no government and with relatively small internal structure. Despite initial scepticism, it quickly produced results by acting wherever an intervention was needed, whenever bad guys had to be stopped.
But with the good comes the bad, and poor actions of several affiliated members, in addition to at least one alien spy infiltrating Unity Group's ranks, caused popular support for the organisation to decrease. Will the group prevail despite rocky times that await it?
About the game
In SRWU, player characters are members of Unity Group or its allies. Their canons become an integral part of the setting, and the canons' events play out during the course of the game as opposed to having finished "offscreen" (though that too is an option if the player desires).
An important part of the game are "missions", events that are played out in real time using instant messengers such as AIM. A mission represents a combat encounter between player characters and some kind of foe, the latter controlled by a mod responsible for running the mission. Missions are always scheduled well in advance.
About applications
Applications are currently and always open. SRWU accepts characters from all kinds of giant robot canons, media and obscurity do not matter. Non-mecha canons can also be accepted if they fit thematically. Players are not limited to app'ing characters into existing canons - you are welcome and encouraged to apply with a totally new canon not present in the game yet, and if accepted it will become part of the setting.
Original characters are allowed.
About activity
The game currently has no activity rules. This may change if it grows significantly larger and if player inactivity becomes a problem.

It happened in the blink of an eye ...
Whatever you're doing, whatever has your attention - a low buzzing sound, like a fly circling your head - becomes audible. The buzzing turns into a low droning whine, impossible to ignore, and a sense of some immense power nearby takes up your senses. However around you, should you ask companions or strangers, no one seems to notice anything out of the ordinary - or even hear you - if you call out to them.
Your surroundings begin to blur, dulling as a white noise drowns out the sounds around you. Faces, Places, Things, all begin blending together in a azure glow. Your body feels numb, heavy and light at the same and nausea settles in the pit of your stomach as your sense of direction vanishes.
For one terrifying moment, all of your senses fail you and you are in pitch black surroundings - as far as you know. Just as quickly, your senses return, bringing with it an even more violent sense of nausea, your body weakened to the point that you can barely stand. When you can stand, you are lying flat on your back, staring up at an unfamiliar sky. In the distance, you can hear crackling every few seconds, flashes of light almost like bolts of lightning appearing to accompany the crackling.

THE XAVIER INSTITUTE
This is the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning. You are here because you are different. Gifted. A mutant. And while the world still has a lot of ground to cover on relations between yourself and your fellow human being, we can only hope that what you do and learn here will not only better yourself, but the world around you.
The Institute is a pan-fandom, plot driven, alternate universe (AU) role playing game set in the world of Marvel's X-Men. Players fill the roles of students, faculty members and adjunct staff members, all of whom work together to keep the Xavier Institute active and running. Alongside school life drama, your characters will have to endure the harsh world of X-Men, where humans and mutants draw near the brink of war with each passing day. When you're stuck in the middle, will you hold your ground or take a side?

VIVARIUM ✖ a zero escape inspired game
You're awake. You don't know where you are or how you got here. You can barely move, but you push yourself up anyway, and look around. You're in an elevator, but the doors are shut tight. You throw your fists at the enclosed doors, shouting for help, but then you stop.
Suddenly, the elevator screen turns on, featuring a strange figure in a gas mask.
"Consider this a privilege. You have been chosen."
A rasping voice speaks out of the gas mask, cold, mechanical, and distorted.
"You are going to participate in an experiment."
"The 【 Nonary Game 】."
"It is a game... where you will put your life on the line."
Vivarium is a panfandom AU/memory-loss game, based off a 3DS/Vita game called Virtue's Last Reward. No prior knowledge of the Zero Escape series is necessary, and the game has its own original plot line. The game focuses heavily on escape, exploration of a trapped enclosure, the prisoner's dilemma, teamwork, and the concepts of trust and betrayal.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We currently have 2 slots open, as the game caps at 12 players. This is a fairly fast paced game that relied heavily on team participation in the puzzle rooms, so a decent tagging speed and time to tag somewhat regularly is highly encouraged.
The Game is open. The Test Drive is here. Applications and reserves are open.

HIGH SEAS | apps are open all month!
a pirate themed roleplay adventure
Centuries old.
Its power is great,
True depths untold.
What once was whole,
Now in parts 'tis shattered.
Having it all,
Aye, that's what matters.
Rebuild the gem
And whatever ye wish will be.
Whether wealth, good fortune,
Mayhap the chance to flee.
Strangers listen:
Take heed, take care.
Or be lost forever
To Davy Jones' lair.
These are the words whispered in your head as you wake up to unfamiliar surroundings. If they don't stick, never fear — they're also inscribed on a stone at the base of the crumbling fountain in the town square. What town square, you ask? Well, perhaps you haven't fully noticed yet. Take a look around.
This isn't your home.
Welcome to Isla Empieza, a port town in this pirate inhabited world you're going to be living in for awhile. It probably doesn't look like much, with its old cobblestone roads and weather-beaten buildings, but it does have a harbor with plenty of ships. The locals here will set you up with one, or at least help you get a room at the inn, but beyond that you'll find they keep to themselves. That should suit you fine, because you probably won't be staying in this town for too long.
You haven't forgotten the poem, right?
Read it again. Think it over.
The famed gem in question was once called the Piedra Roja, and having it in your possession is the only way you're going to be able to get back home.
So get a ship, find a crew, and take to the seas. There is endless ocean to sail, countless islands to explore, and a myriad of adventures to be had. The shards of the Piedra Roja could be anywhere, after all. Finding them won't be so easy. And remember...
You aren't the only one looking for them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
High Seas is a panfandom RPG that is a one part mod-controlled events (treasure hunts! sea beast attacks! a ticked off Naval force!), a couple parts slice of life (on a ship!), and many, many parts create your own adventure! In this mythical pirate world, the only preexisting city is Isla Empieza. Once you set sail from the island it's located on, the world is your oyster! Where your ship goes, the islands it discovers, all of this is up to you. You have total control over the types of places you want your character to visit.
As for why you're here, well, it seems Davy Jones is up to his old tricks. He's always looking for more unsuspecting sailors to drag down to his locker. You can blame him for pulling you into his chaotic world, and whatever curses befall this place? Those are also his fault.
So off you go! Happy Sailing!
(Oh, and watch out for the other pirates.)
