Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

THE INSTITUTE -- Reserves open the 3rd!

[personal profile] uncanny_xmods 2013-04-27 03:36 am (UTC)(link)

( the xavier institute )
"Mutatis Mutandis: By changing those things which need to be changed..."
This is the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning. You are here because you are different. Gifted. A mutant. And while the world still has a lot of ground to cover on relations between yourself and your fellow human being, we can only hope that what you do and learn here will not only better yourself, but the world around you.
The Institute is a pan-fandom, plot driven, alternate universe (AU) role playing game set in the world of Marvel's X-Men. Players fill the roles of students, faculty members and adjunct staff members, all of whom work together to keep the Xavier Institute active and running. Alongside school life drama, your characters will have to endure the harsh world of X-Men, where humans and mutants draw near the brink of war with each passing day. When you're stuck in the middle, will you hold your ground or take a side?

musebysentence, muserevival and wayswithwords

[personal profile] musemods 2013-04-27 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
[community profile] musebysentence : Our premise is simple. We are a muse prompt community with one small difference - prompt responses will only be a single sentence. Once a week, ten (10) prompts will be posted and may be anything from single words, pictures, lyrics, you name it. Muses post their prompt response - of one single sentence - to the comm. All posts MUST be a single sentence only, and in response to a prompt. All past prompts will be available for use at any time.

In addition, we welcome muses to RP in response to the post in a similar fashion to existing RP comms if the urge strikes.

For more information, please visit our PROFILE PAGE.
[community profile] muserevival : A prompt-based muse writing community. In the past, "muse writing" was a writing concept where people could create a character, whether it be canon or original - a "muse" - and select prompts from muse communities to write short scenes based on their character's canon, RP, backstory, head-canon, etc. The writing world was your oyster. Over the time, muse writing has sadly died off in favour of free-form RP, but there is no doubt about it that muse writers still exist out there and miss that form of writing. Or perhaps you're an just an RP'er and now looking to explore the Olde Worlde of Muse Writing. Muse Revival is about simply that - reviving your muse. It is all of the above, and more. It is here for writing inspiration in whatever form you wish to choose.

For more information, please visit our PROFILE PAGE.
[community profile] wayswithwords : Simply another fresh place for muses to interact, meet, greet, chat, bitch, contemplate, or just have fun. Maybe your muse wants advice, or to offer their opinion? Or maybe they just want to catch up with friends, or engage in a plot-building scene with a few fellow muses? Anything goes, really.

We have no restrictions on word limit, no restrictions as to action text, etc. and no restrictions on post length. Posts can be in first person, or third person. Posts can use [bracket play] or prose, depending on your personal preference. Posts can be locked to one or more muses specifically, or be open for anyone to jump in to. Posts can be deep and meaningful, or have no meaning at all. We also allow smut, if that is to your taste and preference.

The Bastion - Applications open

[personal profile] bastionmods 2013-04-27 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)

The Bastion
Designed by talented mechanics, the Bastion was meant to be both a sanctuary and a defense mechanism at once. Should the world ever fall into war, the Bastion could be activated, giving refugees a save place to flee to. The Bastion was meant to be self-monitoring, and could take care of all the needs of its population without any interference.

However, nobody expected the Calamity. Millions perished in the blink of an eye, and the world itself was torn to shreds. All that remains is the Skyway, a collection of floating lands that occupy the space once inhabited by an entire world. The Calamity was so terrible that the Bastion itself was damaged, and it lacks the power necessary to repair itself.

In order to repair the Bastion, characters will have to search for Cores on the Skyway. They provide the power necessary for the Bastion to repair itself, and each Core brings the Bastion one step closer to being 100% operational. Until then, everyone who survived the Calamity will have to work together to survive and keep the monsters of the Skyway out of the Bastion, lest the last sanctuary of mankind fall to the horrors that lurk outside its borders.

The Bastion is a panfandom, plot-heavy game. Applications and reserves are currently open to everyone. On May 10th, applications will become private, and an invitation from a mod or a current player will be required before you can apply.

The game just opened today, and there is an opening event currently going on.

YOU ARE DROWNING. Those on land had said it was a bad idea—the language might have been alien, but the fear on their faces spoke tales no words could tell.

It's called The Devil's Sea. It earned that name for a reason! They say that strange things have happened to those who braved its waters, but only one thing is certain… All who have set sail have yet to return.

But for some reason, despite their warnings of tropical typhoons, monsoon rains, and the perils of the deep, you went forth, tossing and turning in your little boat.

You are drowning.

The waters close in on your lungs. The sea is cold, unfeeling, unmerciful. You're sinking…sinking…falling…

When you come to your senses, you're stranded against a cold bank of sand and seaweed—coughing, shivering—mercifully alive. In the near distance, there is a little town. You struggle to your feet and make your way to the wooden huts, to the yellow electric lights. There are other people like you here—those who had set sail but had yet to return. Your mind is buzzing with questions. How did you escape the sea? Why didn't you drown?

But as night falls, you can feel them watching you, and you discover this—drowning would have been the better option.

Welcome to THE DEVILS SEE, a survival horror game inspired by Asian folklore, old wives' tales, superstitions, and urban legends.

☀ ☀ ☀

Greetings, traveler! Looks like you're new to our fair world. Bit of a culture shock, I know. I hear it all the time. Bet you're looking for a few explanations, too. For example, bet you're wondering about the fog.

You could say it's mostly harmless... most of the time. More often than not, it's barely visible. But when it's thick, when it rolls in like smoke, it brings things. Good, bad. Sometimes both at once. Hallucinations, nightmares, curses, critters. Wishes made, granted, regretted. Some people find their dreams become a terrifying - or wonderful - reality. At least until the mist rolls out again.

It's a hard life, but most of us don't complain too much. See, there's nowhere else to go. The once great mage cities, they've all fallen away. Far as we know, we're the only people still living in the whole damn world. This is all we've got left.

This is where humanity makes its last stand.

☀ ☀ ☀

Scorched is a panfandom roleplaying game set in and around the steam-punk inspired city of Anatole. Named for the dawn, Anatole represents the hope of humanity: the only place left intact by the ubiquitous fog that has engulfed the world. Of course intact is not untouched. Even there, the mist lives, touching the people. Changing them.

Changing you. Because from the second you step into this world, you become one of the Scorched - altered, ageless, given access to abilities, things you may have never believed possible. Things you many not even begin to understand.

But you'll come to understand it; it's the only way to survive. Because humans aren't the only creatures to have survived the fog's onslaught, and you aren't the only things it's changed.
