hello, rpanons! just like subject line says, i'm doing some icon commissions.

i'm mainly interested in dw points, as evidenced by my pricing below, but if you're lacking a credit card i'm also willing to take payments through paypal. samples of my colored icons are here, while examples of what my art style and expressions will generally look like are here.

for colored icons, i'd be charging around 50 points for a full set of 15. drawn icons sharing a single pose (like the expression examples i have there), would be around 60 for a set of 15. i can do different poses and simple animations (like blinking, nodding, talking, etc.), but will of course charge a little extra for it. prices are negotiable, as long as it's reasonable.

if you want a full sized commission, feel free to ask and we'll discuss prices.

How much for 6 manga icons?

depending on the quality of the scans, around 25 points!

do you have restrictions on what you'll color? not after nsfw, but will you only color official art, or..?

i'll color fanart too, if that's what you mean. i'm pretty cool with coloring anything, as long as it isn't horribly low quality or the original artist has stated they don't want their work to be edited.

editing people's fanart for profit is usually considered a huge dick move, and you should actually get the author's explicit permission before doing so instead of going "well only if they've ALREADY said no"

aaaah, oops. i blanked on the fact i was doing this for profit and didn't consider that. sorry, anon! :( i retract my statement and won't be coloring fanart unless the artist has granted explicit permission to do so.

haha it happens! i'm glad you actually sat down and considered that though even if after the fact instead of ignoring it, that was cool of you.

What are some of your favorite icon tutorials? I'm specifically looking for ones geared towards LA fandoms and such, since... I always seem to run into trouble when it comes to making LA icons.

I use PSP rather than PS too, so ones that don't rely on selective coloring would be especially loved.

So I'm playing Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars, and the icons here are the best I've managed to come up with. AS YOU CAN SEE they 1) do not show a great variety of expression, 2) don't even show the same kind of facial structure, and 3) completely blow.

So this is kind of a two-part request.

First - I'd be interested in getting an artist to draw a few more expressions. I'd prefer his facial structure be less square-jaw-hi-I'm-an-American-comic-book-artist-drawing-a-Man and more like la - 3 or la - 4 on the icon page.

Second - I'd be interested if someone could find a PB that resembles aforesaid live action icons/his default drawn one (doesn't have to be the same person, just someone with sheer presence and deep calm and expressions that don't vary much overtly but contain a lot of subtlety).

After finding said PB, I may be interested in getting someone to redden his eyes and blue up his skin.

The prices for artists above seem more than fair, so I'd be happy to up them a little bit. Dreamwidth points would probably be the ideal way to pay; Paypal might require some finagling.

Any thoughts?
