i've been missing from the dwrp scene for a few years but i'm kinda interesting in coming back. what's things like these days? what's the games situation? is there a new bakerstreet or is bakerstreet still bakerstreeting? is journal rp still dying like it has been every year for the past decade? have we as an internet society evolved beyond the need for wankgate? where do you get your porn gifs now that tumblr porn is gone?

this is probably just be anxiety speaking, but I worry about tagging so many top levels on a meme with the same character that it might start annoying people seeing that character everywhere all over the place. This is probably just me being anxious for no reason and worrying about upsetting or annoying people.

being hopeful for/about tags and potentially developing cr is making me feel so vulnerable and stupid lately. half of me wants to take a full-blown month+ break and the other half doesn't, because i am still very much interested in writing with some people despite feeling like a nuisance and lousy in my efforts, and i worry about causing a loss of interest (which already feels precarious) the longer i take.

I can't say no one at all would get annoyed, but i can safely say anyone who gets annoyed at seeing your character being extroverted isn't worth anyone's time. especially in this day and age when we're hurting for people brave enough to tag out.

probably trying not to make it obvious that they're the one who posted the meme, because they don't want us all knowing they're the same person who also posted three other memes in the last hour

I also left for a few years and came back recently. Game situation is odd to me, mostly invite-only games now, but you can get invites fairly easily while staying generally anonymous (if that's your preference) through EMP or posting to test drives. Bakerstreet still bakerstreeting. Journal RP seems a bit smaller now but not so much that it's really noteworthy. Wankgate is shockingly slow and seems pretty tame.

Plurk also seems like less of a thing. I decided to not go back to plurk and I've had no issues with ooc communication. Folks on bakerstreet slide into my dms when they wanna talk and I've noticed very few of them have plurks linked too, so it all seems a bit more anonymous to me in that sense.

The main thing I've noticed is that there's much more emphasis on prefs communication and a lot less wank for it, which is peachy tbh. All in all, it seems more chill than usual but a little harder to get into a game. I've just been vibing on bakerstreet and having a great time.

If you're tagging out - something very few do lately - anyone who is annoyed at you doing it "too much" can stfu.

I went looking specifically for someone else from the UK to gift to. Since our prime is separate from elsewhere. Have a lovely holiday season!

It's not much, just a few bits for your furry friend, but I hope they enjoy them a lot! My own kitten goes feral over those springs and will happily play fetch for ages with felt balls. I couldn't resist.

da but fwiw it seems like lately a lot of people have moved to exchanging discord uns for faster ooc communication when journal dms feel too slow. some games also have their own dedicated discord servers now. so, that seems to be what's replacing plurk in some circles, tho there's still plenty of people on plurk too
