da, I feel this. I just hit the third strike with someone and on the one hand...I guess it's nice not to wonder, but on the other I wish they had just said they weren't feeling it instead of doing the pity tag and ghost routine because even this was too much effort.

also, why sharpen after? idk if it's the program I'm using or the quality of my caps but when I sharpen after it does terrible things to whatever I'm working on

sometimes i see people post on memes with the other half of the ship but i'm too chicken to ask them if they're interested because it's kind of taboo/strange
so i'll pine and woe from afar

it might depend on the program you're using, yes, or the quality of your source file, or the file type you start with or save to. if you're lucky, the order doesn't make much of a difference. but sometimes it does, so i've gotten into the habit of doing color adjustments, then resizing, then sharpening so i don't have to worry about it ever happening.

when you adjust the colors on an image, you inevitably lose some image quality. the more dramatic your adjustments, the more detail is lost. so you should adjust the colors on a larger image when you can. you'll lose less detail overall (there isn't much to lose when everything is condensed down into a 100x100 image) and preserve more accurate colors when you then size down.

they may look the same at 100%, but zoom in to about 300% and you'll be able to see how smooth the halo of light on the first one looks and how pixelated it looks in the second. it doesn't matter much if your images are already very HD and you're sizing them way down, but if you're working with smaller images or cropping very tightly, (or if you're doing a lot of adjusting, like with levels or gamma mapping) this difference can look really bad.

i find that when i sharpen before, then size down, the image gets blurry again. when sharpening after, it's best if you're able to use a program that lets you adjust the amount of sharpness in degrees rather than just the default "sharpen" setting, because it's very easy to over-sharpen such a small image with a one click filter, yes. these images have the same amount of sharpening done to them, but the second one is sharper because it was sharpened at a lower resolution (though also more pixelated; i would probably lower the amount of sharpening just a hair and save again if this were a real icon):

but you know the saying in art: once you know the rules, you're free to break them. so now that you know the recommended order, you can still do the opposite if you find it works for you!

Saw a TotK Zelda with the username ifiwasawyrm and I got a good laugh out of it.

The Anime Characters Database is great if you're looking for an anime PB; you can search by age, hair color, hair length, eye color, etc, so on

people are definitely allowed to play whatever they want and tag whatever they want, but it does kinda suck seeing someone tagging up a storm on a tdm while only tossing you one pity tag in reply

probably just means my tag to them was either bad or just didn't click, but it's still a huge bummer, and it'll be real awkward if we both get in the game but oh well

i haven't read many of their threads but i do think it's amazing a tykki mick is out there and playing in 2023, i hope the mun knows that
