Personally I go through tons of random webtoons and obscure manga looking for characters I like the looks of. Then I go through saving screenshots for future icons. Then when I think up an OC I usually base their looks around one of the saved possible PBs. If it's something I just have to have in particular I'll go hunting on Pinterest for hair color and wander from there.

I prefer comic or drawn PBs typically though.

Blonde woman, early 20's/late teens, hair length is a bit inconsistent canonically, but she's described many times as letting it fall into her face/obscure her eyes or obscure one eye. Tends to dress more formally (blouses and jackets instead of t-shirts or sweatshirts), so that would also be a great bonus if anyone has any ideas. Thanks! I appreciate how helpful people are with this kind of thing.

biggest complaint is koenma isn't a baby, and some really wonky pacing issues in the last episode.

But I definitely think some of the changes are good because of the folding of plotlines.

aww, op <3 there are so many ways to be a good friend. if you end up meeting someone out there that you'd like to form a more personal connection with, just communicate with them about this particular anxiety. if they're worth the friendship they'll work with you, be kind, let you know their own preferences and expectations, etc. easier said than done, i know, and you might not always get the response you're hoping for, but it's worth being honest every time, imo. (ftr, all my friendships have different patterns of communication and routines, and i don't compare them to each other or worry too much about it when they change... there are more people like me out there, op. you'll definitely run into them!)

i really wish there was some extension or tagging system where you could browse bs by character or fandom :( i know it's not a realistic want but i don't care much at all about the meme in specific and will pretty eagerly make anything work if a character i like pops up, but there being like 40 memes posted a day makes it such a chore to sift through them all

yeah i think a good rule of thumb is always "if someone doesn't know anything about my character, is this enough for them to tag me in short form?" and try to write it from that pov...as someone who tags cross-canon, it helps when people are able to wrap their character up in a short list and makes tagging them easier! and when i tag canonmates it lets me know any of the important things

No, it wouldn't be off-putting. I usually prefer talking to my rp partners, especially those I enjoyed threading with. However, after I ran into one who was so weird about shipping she started claiming I lied about our mutual ship and other stories, I'm wary about getting too close to new rp partners myself.

I would completely respect that preference not to talk to me, as long as we are both okay with it each other and not being weird about it.

Had something similar happen to me where I was mass friending a lot of people in the game (it's very small) and sent a friend request. It sat there...and sat there...and sat there. I eventually took the hint after they just flat-out started ignoring the thread we had and figured there was something about me they just didn't like. Haven't tagged them in anything new and don't plan to.

not really at this stage in rping. i used to take it more personally but now i realize some people want a 'just the facts ma'am' style rp relationship and that's okay. it does occasionally stink when i'd like to gush about how fun our thread is in a public place where they can see it but whatever. we can still rp together and that's the most important part.

One of mine I'll always remember for a sci-fi thread is "They were like two moms circling each other" instead of "They were like two moons circling each other." It got replied to before I could fix it and so my shame and amusement both are still there for me to look at to this day.

if you have a paid account you can use dw’s site and journal search to search bakerstreet comments. it does pull in stuff from other coms but i have found that not a lot of other paid coms talk about my fandom characters so it’s not hard to filter through. it’s not a perfect system but i’ve been able to find tls that way.

it does also rely on bs having a paid, which currently it does.

idm when i know it's the other person's preference. i always prefer being told rather than vibe checking though, especially cause i've been wrong in the past. sometimes there are conflicting cues and sometimes someone is just shy which throws me off

i've started baking "hey idm any level of communication, just lmk" in my ooc openers and still have to feel it out every time

Been trying to get some threads and CR established with this rp partner for a year now. I’ve written countless things and if I do get a tagback, the thread dies after 1-2 comments as the one right below my attempts with whoever gets boomerangs and hundreds of comments.

I’ve tried everything I can think of and I’m not even mad, just frustrated I wasted my time and it would have been a lot easier if they would have been transparent and said they weren’t interested in threading at all.
