I know this character is supposed to be annoying in canon, so the fact that they’re annoying in-game means that the player is doing a good job….but it doesn’t change the fact that they’re still really annoying.

tbf it’s identical to reading fic for me, which i do because i want more of a character than what i have, but sometimes it’s for a specific player’s writing ability (you know how people read fandoms they’re blind to if they like an author enough?).

it started because i wasn’t getting the fic i wanted in my small fandoms, so started stalking casts with the characters i wanted to read. back in the journal-based days i backread entire journals for characters who had dropped before my time in the game but had made an impact so i could get the history. i also used to stalk the big murdergames because of friends there, which was a lot more normalized.

normally my investment stops when the character is gone from the game. with my last game, though, i still go look at the taken list every so often and read characters who look fun. i’d like to get my shit together enough to app back in, so it’s weirdly motivating.

Greatest fears meme where a character is asked what their greatest fear is, and a sign actually gives their actual true fear.

Besides that, another idea came to mind of a hero/villain au swap meme thing. Where a hero becomes a villain, or the vice versa. Top level could include reasonings why they'd turn to heroism/villainy (for canon reasons, AU reasons, etc.). It was just a silly idea that popped into my head from listening to covers of Disney princess songs where the princesses are the villains.

got kind of a stupid question

does anyone else get the urge every so often to watch or read or listen to something really sad that they know will make them cry? i have a couple of songs that i avoid at all times because they emotionally destroy me but maybe once a year i feel like i just need a really good cry so i break them out. i usually feel better afterwards so i guess it's meeting some kind of need but i just wondered if anyone else has experienced this or knows if there's any sort of like... scientific rationale for something like this

you're not weird nonny, i do that too sometimes. usually i look for sad movies/videos instead of music but i get the urge to cry and want that release!! it feels good to let it out too. i don't know about any scientific rationale but i always assume it has to do with hormone fluctuations (for me, anyway).

I don't enjoy playing in games but I like reading threads all the time for characters I like that are there. usually I check out the cast page to see what characters are there and then check out where they've posted. this is why I get so happy when some users have thread logs in their journals, makes stalking so much easier! your hard work is noticed.
