is there a way to hide an account without blocking them? there's a character whose design squicks me out and i don't want to see their icons, but blocking feels too drastic. maybe a uBlock filter...?

the assault lily anime is a limp pile of badly paced garbage but it does set the scene for the game, which generally writes the characters better and is steering more and more towards the direction and portrayal shown in non-animated canon. it's a big project and i'd suggest you start with the stage plays instead, although if you're the "ew 3dpd" type you can even skip the anime and the game recaps the important bits for you. you also miss out on the anime director's pet oc which may or may not be a plus point.

that preamble was relevant because the first Very Gay character you are likely to see is Kaede and her competency doesn't get showcased very well in the anime compared to other media. she does get to make a man cry though. it's her dad. she trended on jp twitter when the episode aired.

childhood friend pairings:
- Raimu/Seren; Seren is confirmed over multiple sources to be in love with Raimu. there's no big confession or anything but Raimu tells Seren at one point that she is "more than a childhood friend" to her and [SPOILERS]Raimu despairs to the extent of considering suicide when her storyline/trauma arc culminates in her thinking Seren has died for her. the game had an event earlier this year going more into their relationship and dynamic.
- Takane/Kanaho; they've been inseparable since they were children and everyone defaults to considering them as a couple. they also kiss onscreen in the "the battle to overcome" stage play.

the problem child and wrangler pairing: Araya is bi although she's only seen flirting with/sleeping around with girls because there are very few noteworthy male characters. there's one april fools story where she turns unhinged from getting deployed on a mission without any cute guys/girls and the eventual "solution" everyone settles on is for her to sleep with Ichi who fits the bill of "can keep up with her"+"is Araya's type". how much Ichi reciprocates her feelings is up to interpretation in typical contexts but they have a fun dynamic. Ichi also has a rivalry-to-senpai-notice-me thing going on with Ena if that is more your cup.

the omg they were roommates pairing: Shenlin/Yujia; you'd probably ship them around episode 4~5 if watching the anime. they haven't gotten past the "this person is a very dear friend to me" stage (yet), but offering to room with someone is extending an invitation to a close partnership in their school (the anime rewrote and did not touch on this). Shenlin pulls the "can you cook for me every day" line in one manga side story (she's Taiwanese and grew up in Japan) and the implication is lost on Yujia (who's from Iceland) until their friend explains it to her. knowing Shenlin, this might be the intended outcome.

Fire Emblem Three Houses has some picks! Edelgard, Dorothea, and Shamir are canonically bisexual and i'm definitely sure i forgot some others. i didn't really care for any of the romances involving the player avatar, but they have great chemistry with other characters. personally, i was a big fan of Edelgard/Lysithea, Dorothea/Petra, and Shamir/Catherine!

however, Heather in Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn is still the undefeated queen of FE sapphics imo. Heather is a lesbian who openly loves women and also spends her time conning men to steal their money (her aim is to buy medicine for her sick mother).

Why is AYRT deadset on making OP feel like shit? I don't think that it is immature to be concerned about this. As you said, this is the RP woes thread. You know, where we voice our RP woes. I think unfollowing the old partner is a good idea if OP is not yet ready to reach out and doesn't want to go the more drastic path of unfriending. Communication is key, but getting your head together and coming up with ideas for what you want to write with them should be done before contacting the person in question. Ignore people hating on you for voicing a concern.

Someone made a Stylus setting for this exact thing at some point, as I recall. Hid the entire response, icons, everything.

dreamwidth tools has a blacklist feature, you can blacklist their usual headers or journals with certain keywords

eg. if you don't want to tag mcus who play m/m you can blacklist "marvel" "mcu" "m/m"

totally a shot in the dark here but i'd love to find someone i used to rp with wayyy back in the day.
