someone in your game gets ac very wrong. they post links to threads significantly under the stated comment requirements. maybe they don't know they're doing it wrong. they probably don't have any other activity to post as they aren't active in the game. the mods don't seem to spot the mistake

do you say anything? to the player, or the mods? or assume there may have been a private conversation between them and butt out as it has nothing to do with you

does your answer change if it happens multiple months in a row? if they're your castmate and basically squatting on the character?

(not about a specific player or a current situation. i've seen it multiple times over the years)

personally i operate on a "don't tell mods how to mod their games" mentality but if it's multiple months of this and they're a castmate, that might warrant a message to the mods

i'm not a cop.

i might poke them and be like: "hey, so, you're getting this wrong my guy" and give them a head's up to fix it in the future. so they don't get kicked because they didn't know better. but it's not my place to like report them to the mods over something as inconsequential as AC.

if you'd rather they drop because they're not super active or because you know someone else who wants to app with their character, that's a whole other conversation you can have. it might be uncomfortable, but the adult response is talking to them. trying to avoid talking to them by reporting a mistake to the mods is kinda scummy.

and if they aren't making a mistake, if they're knowingly messing up ac and sitting on the character, the mods probably know or are in the process of dealing with it.

1) i'm honestly not sure why you're assuming the mods haven't spotted the mistake. if it's obvious to you, it's probably obvious to them too.

2) i butt out and mind my own business. the player isn't hurting anyone and the mods don't seem to care, so why would you feel the need to intervene?

i mind my own business. if it's a castmate, i treat them sympathetically like a human being and ask them what's up

If I know them, I'll talk to them.

But yes, I would tell the mods otherwise. It's not "being a cop" or harming that player to ask them to meet the AC of the game that they presumably agreed to when they applied. If the mods have decided to grant that player an exemption for whatever reason, that's fine. But otherwise it is something they may have missed. I have modded before and it's pretty easy to miss something like that occasionally, whether there was a miscommunication among the mods and everyone thought someone else was dealing with it or because AC mod was just tired that month and only took a quick glance or forgot to come back to that person.

There are hiatuses and strikes if they can't make AC that month. If they've used all of those up and still can't do it, the game isn't a good fit and they should find one with lower AC.

say something. sock it up with a proxy if you feel the mods would be weird about it.

i'm going to assume this is someone whose activity impacts me in some way, maybe they're a castmate, or they're playing a character i or a friend want to app. otherwise, i would not ever notice this, or if i did, i'd just assume that the mods have already spoken to them in private and worked out a pass for why it's happening.

with that assumption in mind, i might ask. i would not go in and have a snitch tantrum about it. i'd probably sock up and just say hey i've noticed this, is that intentional? if so, what are the criteria for if anyone else needs this kind of break?

The mods definitely noticed, have talked to them privately, and would like DWRP’s hall monitors to sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up, and mind their own business.

IDK, as a mod I definitely would have gotten the player to correct it or edit to say that they were given a pass on AC after talking with the mods? If incorrect AC is just submitted with no corrections I'd think the mods missed it.

Not everyone mods like I do but in this case I wouldn't leave an incorrectly submitted AC just sitting there because:

-It could cause unwanted speculation about special treatment/mod friends not having to pass AC/etc

-It could mislead new players into thinking that this is correct and open the door to having to let other people pass because if Player A passed with this, why can't I?

No need to air the player's private business but something like "extended hiatus granted by the mods" or whatever isn't revealing and removes possible confusion.

i've never once looked up another player's AC or wanted to. forget checking it enough to notice patterns. why are you concerning yourself with whatever your neighbours are doing? does this effect you directly somehow?

it's not hard to notice when a castmate is never around but somehow mysteriously keeps passing ac anyway.

mmk and this isn't that. this was someone's complaint about someone doing AC wrong. parent up.
