Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

just want to point out that if you're going sugar-free it's really important to actually check the ingredients, because aspartame, sucralose, and "sugar alcohols" (the stuff they use to make those russell stover sugar-free candies) are garbage.

stevia is the most common non-garbage alternative you're going to find as an ingredient, but it's unfortunately still only catching on with big corporations (because it costs more) and still fairly limited in "diet" versions of stuff. sugar-free "big name" sodas all have aspartame, for instance, and sugar-free coffee creamers all use sucralose.

this is not to say you can't find alternatives at all though! they even exist in big supermarkets (except maybe like wal-mart?), just be careful to check what you're buying instead of accepting automatically that sugar-free = won't affect your weight

Thank you for the advice. I tried stevia in tea once and it was good but I put a whole lot in!

I have a friend who insists to me that diet soda being bad for you is a myth. He downs Coke Zero like water and kept linking me this doctor on Tik tok who advocates for aspartame/sugar alternatives and tells his audience that there’s no research supporting that any of it’s bad for you. I don’t believe it at all, just was reminded of it. Diet versions of drinks and foods taste awful to me anyway.

eehh. most of these things are fine in moderation. aspartame is one of the most researched food additives on the planet, and there's plenty of evidence to suggest that people who are addicted to diet coke are just addicted to the extreme amount of caffeine in it. stevia gives some people allergic reactions. you really have to do your own trial and error to see what you like taste-wise and what doesn't bother your body.

i mean yeah i agree eating a high fat diet and expecting diet soda to make you lose weight is a bad idea. idk if i needed a study to prove that
