I got the cheapest cones available for the arena and they were made of a hard thin plastic almost as though 3d printed, not bendy like traffic cones. so i show my anxious horse the cone so she can sniff it because i don't want her to have a panic attack over an unfamiliar object. She sniffs it for a split second and then takes a very deliberate chomp which, as you guessed it, makes the cone very loudly crack in half, scaring her half to death. the trauma of the cone detonation has not been enough to deter her from trying to grab them when we pass them in the arena btw
she is 16 hands high (so 5'4" at her shoulder) and her pasturemate is a MUCH smaller 34 year old geriatric gelding with 7 remaining teeth who terrorizes her daily by doing things such as look at her or pin his ears if she comes close to the gate to greet mommy (he has to be the first one out!!!! Line leader!!!!)
also i have video footage of her dumping her soupies on purpose that i will turn into a gif and link for those who want to know what horse malice looks like
