To maximize, have good icons, a profile with a summary, a well-formatted post with more in-depth information in your journal (possibly with links to a canon wiki), a permissions page, and a kinks list if you're gonna do smut.
For RP ideas or hooks, you'll want something that isn't overly wordy, probably a paragraph or two at most. Something that might engage people or leave them feeling like they can add to it rather than just being another role in the existing story.
