Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

only if you're willing to go cold turkey on anon comm visits. I promise you modding is less stressful if you don't go to anoncomms and turn off anon on you comms and journals and refuse to speak to anyone who can't comment to your mod contact with a name attached.

I'm a mod and I still look at RPanons obviously but I definitely second the idea of not engaging with player concerns that aren't done through proper channels. It's such a load off to not constantly be trying to do things based on random chatter you see.

At the moment I'm finding modding to be more pleasant than it ever has been before, mostly because people in general seem much more aware of how much work it is, and also I'm doing better at setting boundaries.

as a former mod, yes i would look on rpa/wg just to get a temperature reading of the room but i would take complaints with a big grain of salt and wouldn't publicly acknowledge or address anything unless it was brought to our attention through official channels. this made life way easier.

i have played in other games though that used monthly game hmds for players to talk about how they felt about in game events and mod decisions and what not, and those games rarely ever had any rpa/wg threads. players were very comfortable openly talking there about any grievances (or compliments!) they had without outside anon shit-stirring rubbernecking scrutiny.

the only "exception" i made was when a wanker i also had personal experience with was going to app to our game. no one pm'd us warning us about them but of course our wg thread was bloated with complaints about it. i did pre-ban them. all that wg thread did was validate my feelings on a decision i was going to make irrespective of all the anon complaints.

mods aren't all encompassing. if you have an issue please bring it to our attention through official channels.

tbh i'm a mod of a game that basically never comes up here and i think it's probably because i don't engage with discussions here when they happen. i just mod my game and try to be a reasonable person about it. (admittedly my player base is small and the game is low-stakes and low-pressure, so it probably helps that there's not much to get mad about.)
