are they overtaking your plurk? say something like hey if you want to talk about [x] in detail can you take it to a new plurk so this one stays on topic?

if it's in conversation 1v1 i'd say i'm sort of overwhelmed or be like haha yeah i don't know much about [canon the character is from] it's not really my thing. or, if you are terminally incapable of addressing it, just stop replying until they stop replying.

Re: the suggestions to just stop replying, if the person lacks the social skills to not talk over people about something only they are interested in in socially inappropriate contexts, it's VERY unlikely that they'll pick up on a nonverbal cue like that. It's best to just gently but firmly express noninterest.
