if this is the reason they will just get worse over time. I had a "friend" who acted like this and she eventually stopped being quiet about it and started whining to me if I had significant CR with someone else or did a similar idea with someone else that we had "planned to do". I was miserable and constantly walking on eggshells around her. it ruined the whole hobby for me for a good year or so and I'm still wary about getting close to anyone because of her

Yeah, you’re right. I hate the feeling that I can’t just have fun with my threads because she’s reading them and getting upset. I guess I felt bad because I don’t get that way, personally, so I … felt in the wrong? I don’t know. It’s weird.

welcome to character development

don't feel bad for someone else's insecurity. you're not in the wrong and it is actually a them issue. take whatever actions you need to to make sure you're having fun, even if it's hard to break out of worrying that you might be 'hurting' someone else in doing so.

eventually they'll have to wise up and realize that they're the problem and you're doing neither of you any favours by allowing it to continue

it felt wrong because she's emotionally manipulating you. she might not be doing it intentionally (or she might be) but either way she's training you to not want to tag anyone else and to reward her bad behavior with what she wants (your attention). this is a shitty thing to do to someone. she's not your friend, she's trying to control you.

had the same thing happen and yeah, it ruined my ability to enjoy playing that character for quite a while. get out as soon as you can, this is a toxic relationship.
