1. one like the picture prompt meme, but done icly, with your character's attempt at drawing something (maybe to fit a prompt?) and other characters responding
2. one where every tag is drawn instead of written. it would be limited in its appeal, but at least it would be different

i used to do 2 a lot when they were a new idea way back when and there's a reason they fizzled out: it's because the threads fizzle out. fast. people seemed to get about 3/4 tags in and realize they could have the same thread with less effort if they just wrote it

+1 unless you're drawing stick figures or quick garbage sketchy scribbles or low effort SD/chibi style drawings, drawing takes a hell of a lot more time and energy to get to the same point you would in just writing it out

the only exception i can think of that a drawing meme would outweigh writing is if you are specifically going for a visual gag or a mood that just can't be expressed as well in writing. but those are rare, and, again, are going to typically require way more time and energy to manifest it in a drawing (and furthermore, be happy with the quality of it enough that the visual gag/mood sticks the landing)

additionally, this is a really judgmental community. who the hell wants to put their quick garbage scribbles out there for scrutiny? it's going to make artists self conscious and want to "do their best" so yeah maybe you'll get 3/4 beautiful drawn tags but then they're spent

this is coming from an artist who, in theory, would love to draw tags all live long day. it just takes too much and effort to do when i could just write it out and maybe draw some fanart on the side and share it privately with my writing partner if i'm really into it. :(

add in that it's more work in general in having to have a program/site to do the art, do the art, host the art, link the art, and we're all here to write out what we're doing. i mean, it's not a horrible idea for a niche group, but it's not going to be widely popular because people like me can't draw for shit and i'm not going to go through the effort of going off site to figure out how to draw/link shit back here when it's not even for guaranteed cr.

totally, even if you do have all the programs/tools to make a drawing, sometimes finding a reliable place to upload and link the art is a huge hassle!

i was in a discord server a couple of years ago full of other artists, and we would draw-rp on and off. it was a short lived flashpan thing and yeah it was really fun while it lasted. it really only works in a niche group full of other artists.

so.. idk maybe in a meme-sense it'd only be viable as a way to connect other artists to other artists? but i can't see it working as a way to rp itself. compare to "real time" responses like in discord it's also just way too slow. especially when as you said cr is unlikely to work out or last long that way
