Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

it's a problem with any game that has a game discord. it's all fun for being fun, but when you're not on it and you're still in the game and/or just on plurk, then it makes you miss out on a lot. it starts to feel like there's factions within factions and if you're not part of the popular discord chat, you're not really as involved and miss stuff.

not in this game, but i'm in another faction game that recently started and i'm not on the discord and the mods recently put out a post about stuff happening on discord that no one clearly knows about if they're not on it. feels bad, man. and it's game relative, so we're all being caught up after the fact. i get that it's kind of the nature of the beast, but it still kind of sucks to be in the game but not in the game.

It's funny to see this because I'm someone who used to have Plurk, but after taking a break of a few years away from DWRP and nuking my Plurk before I left, I came back resolved to never get on it again. I join every Discord if a game I app into has one now, I find it better than having to add everyone in game and needing to keep up with a timeline especially when a lot of people also use Plurk for non-RP reasons. Discord chats also derail but it's easier to get in touch with players with less effort, on top of mass plotting and mass reacting to in-game happenings.

It's all subjective and I know there's pros and cons to both, but I by far prefer game Discords to having Plurk. If you're thinking of the game I am too though, take it to that game thread instead. I'm in some other games and I don't feel the Discord problem, it may also have to do with the size of the player base.

at least in this game, it feels like the mods make an effort to make sure everything gets posted to the ooc comm and the plurk, so there's no chance of any player missing it.

tbh i don't think anything major has been coordinated exclusively on the game discord. on a personal plotting level, idk tho
