Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

i love how la players like to pretend that la doesn't have that exact same shit going on.

look, i love game of thrones, for example, but i'm not going to pretend it's easy to understand for people who don't know the first thing about it because the lore is so damn dense. and don't get me started on anything based on comics.

it's hilarious to me how some la players think anime is this vastly impenetrable monolith and that every show is some over-the-top dbz clusterfuck of power levels and incomprehensible jargon. then they turn around and whine about always being (unfairly) compared to mcu.

the argument works both ways, my dudes. acting like every anime, every comic, or every la series is the same is universally stupid.

exactly, i enjoy both anime and la and i could easily name a dozen la shows/movies that would be pretty impenetrable to anyone who isn't familiar with them. anime is far from the only medium guilty of that.

it's almost always a bad faith argument tbh, like if you don't like anime that's 100% fine (and contrary to what's often claimed, no sane animu will bust down your door) but you don't need to pull out bullshit statements like OH ANIME IS JUST SO CONFUSING I CAN'T EVEN to justify it.
