Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

because those memes generally require more thought. not in the sense they're super deep or pretentious or whatever, more that it requires more scene-setting and oftentimes AUing into other canons. when given the option, most dwrpers prefer brainless fun like texting memes.

I love scene-setting and AUing, but the chance of getting successful rp out of a "high effort" meme is so low that it's hard to work up the energy to try.

A lot of memes suffer from feature creep. The reason the Denny’s meme works is because it’s so simple, and can be portrayed anyway you like- frequently, players make it into Space Denny’s by themselves.
