just know that wankgate probably only has about 5-10 regular users who are posting unironically. both anon comms are a minority of DWRP culture and both tend to drastically overestimate their influence on the community.

i'm not saying you won't run into any catty meangirls in their 30s but they are not likely to affect your life in any way if you stay off anon comms.

nah. i'd say it's about 10-20. it's hard to gauge because the people who insist they don't go there are in fact the ones who go there the most.

The thing about places like wg is that being there on the reg defeats the purpose.

I look at it as a place to note extra-toxic experiences and/or to dissect toxic habits in the hobby. It only occurs to me to go there when I've noticed that sort of thing, which is pretty rare because most rpers are pretty laid back people who just wanna play pretend with some other laid back nerds.

Going there often makes you see toxicity in everything. I think that's why so much bitching about harmless shit goes on in wank threads, because if someone is going there a lot, looking for things to complain about becomes as much if not more of a hobby than RP.

It's like a compost pile. People put their garbage there, and rats linger on it.
