one of the changes that i realized lately is that, at least on my plurk timeline, people are spreading themselves much thinner across multiple games than when i first entered the hobby. nowadays, it's common for my friends who do games (some are psl or bakerstreet only) to be in two games minimum, but their attention is naturally divided, since their time allotment hasn't gone up. in fact, for many, it's dwindled down over time. as a result, they are technically in multiple games and they even meet AC reliably, but their contribution to player or gamewide plots isn't as big. this is fine from a player's point of view (i think we all agree, especially during covid times, just play whatever makes you happy). but it plays into why mods in plot-driven games are increasingly having to take more and more responsibility and shepherd their playerbase.

as a result, mods burn out quicker or... don't really step forward to helm games with a strong plotline.
