For some reason, this description gives me real vibes for, like Daveed Diggs as Jefferson in Hamilton, but I have a feeling that's not the right period based on the mention of blazers.

Sorry, I should have clarified. The time period is the early 1980's in the American Northeast, so as much as I love Daveed Diggs, I'm not sure I could make that work. I do appreciate the suggestion, though, and you're on the right track. Big "I'm just a little too loud about how great I am" energy is there for both of them, for sure.

tbh this sounds like a great opportunity to start watching some fun 80s movies and picking whoever you want

Do you have any recommendations? I'm kind of clueless when it comes to 80's movies and what movies might have someone who fits that look, but I'm open to ideas and willing to watch a bunch of movies I've never heard of if anyone can point me in the right direction.

tbh the description you gave is broad enough that no one immediately springs to mind. you could google top 10 box office movies by year for the 80s and see if anything jumps out from preview images on imdb?

A lot of romantic comedies had super stylish at the time guys as the romantic rivals.

You can probably coast into the early 90s for fashion that would fit as well.

You could also do two sets of icons, one collected from fashion shoots for GQ or Esquire from the right time period with the model's face cropped out just enough for deniability, and closeups of your chosen PBs face if you can't find them in the right wardrobe.
