Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

No one wants to play with the character I want to play most right now. I've tried TDMing to crickets, and have both posted to and tagged out on memes with no response to either.

I have no trouble getting play with other characters. I suspect with this one it's because the canon, while well-known, might seem like an odd choice to RP from. Think something where it's very realistic and deals with hard topics and doesn't lend itself too well to fandom. I've been thinking of just writing out my samples and apping them somewhere anyway in the hopes that the people who want to play with me just couldn't TDM this time of don't ever TDM, but I'm worried the potentially off-putting canon choice could be permanently limiting.

some canons just aren't going to be very popular here, anon. or very workable. when it toes that hyperrealistic line too hard and/or the characters are hard to engage with, you gotta accept ahead of time you'll need to put more work in. if it's too stressful, i'd pick someone else.
