Why do people always act like this? You can change your character minutely and react and be IC. If they become unrecognizable though then yeah it's time to play someone new. I ain't here for your CRAU five year in game of growth. I want to play with that character.

It's almost like this doesn't exist and people who are OOC are making up reasons for why its fine to be OOC.

if a character is put in a completely different environment and undergoes experiences that are nothing like anything they've ever experienced before, and they only change "minutely"

then the character is static and boring

Apping a character to any game makes them au by default anyway because that game universe isn't (generally) their canon one so??? People need to stop being so pressed about someone playing one character in game for years, because even if they don't crau them elsewhere, if a new canonmate apps in years after the first character while they're still there, it's essentially the same scenario ayrt was complaining about

it's wild how many people assume all character changes in games are going to be OOC and random. canon personalities are a starting place to extrapolate from, not boxes you're stuck in.

Why play in a public game at all if you only want other people to play in extremely specific ways. This the other end of letting characters app in even if you personally don't like them; people shouldn't have to center their play around you specifically.
