rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Did the mods already disappear?

the FAQ isn't being answered, but apps are processed. the taken page is up to date. all requests for A5 cards have been filled.

looks like they're active, just poor communicators

da, according to the news post on the ooc comm, they're rounding up FAQ questions and only answering them monthly?

which is a terrible idea, tbh.

yeah that's weird. if someone wants their question answered because it's important to their app or joining the game, they're just supposed to.. wait out the month?

more and more these mods seem like they have good intentions but have no idea how to run a game like this.

especially when some of them are app related and time sensitive. or related to current posts/events.

they said they were looking for helpers for updating, and i'm wondering if they're going to keep track of things like who hasn't signed on the taken list. i know of at least one person i've seen playing in the game who has an a5 card that isn't on the taken list.

i am pretty sure they meant they would be rounding up all the answers (from question asked to the page, plurk, etc) and updating the faq page with them

but they haven't answered any of them.

they're probably working on the event since the announcement goes up tomorrow, anon. also they were busy processing apps and are likely doing other behind the scenes modwork like discussing faq questions among themselves. all these things take time an energy to do and they might've needed to take a breather after the opening rush.

i'm also pretty sure they're first time mods and that's fine, especially given that they seem pretty open to feedback and seem willing give players a lot of leeway while they figure things out. i also suspect that it's just two mods doing all the work during a global pandemic so delays and quiet periods are to be expected.

I wish they would come out and say all this then instead of leaving it up to anons to explain it, so people waiting and spinning their wheels don't start thinking the game has been basically abandoned before it even started

If the app process is obviously running how is it abandoned?

the faq questions were unanswered for over a week but they were still doing other modwork during that time.

besides, there was always the option of using your imagination to fill in gaps the faq doesn't provide and just doing a retcon when the mods got back to it of something didn't work. they've been upfront about the fact they're working things out as they go.

looks like they're still hanging out here because they just gave an update on plurk

pretty sure the update was more about the event today than non comments.

the plurk made a point of addressing everything that's been raised on here and wg though. they also said that they are new mods, which iirc hasn't been brought up outside of anon comms

fwiw I don't think there's anything wrong with a mod team hanging out on here or on wg, but it shouldn't have to take anons bitching on a crappy wank meme to get some communication from a mod team, imo. looking forward to the event though, I'm excited to see what they've come up with!

i have nothing against any mod being on either comm, tbh. but i do have a problem with people expecting mods to answer or see things that they bring up here and not in the game. if there was a coincidence in timing or if they actually did see things, i would hate for that to set a precedent of 'i brought it up on the rpa, they should have gotten to it by now'.

people were discussing this openly on plurk, too, anon. very shortly afterward, the announcement went up. i think it's more likely that the mods were friended on someone's plurk because they addressed everything that was mentioned in one discussion on there.

regardless, it doesn't matter how they saw it.

on the off-chance they are here reading - mods, it'll be better for you to ignore anon comm discourse and force players to come to you through proper channels. otherwise, you're going to wind up with anons trying to bully you into making decisions they want and a portion of them will likely be shit stirrers not even in the game.
