Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

i think that's why i've been in rp for so long; i love to collaborate with people and share ideas. it's been a huge hobby of mine for years and years. yet my interest even in private stuff with friends, which was my go-to for a long time, is waning as well. we have some shared multiplayer video game interests but i often don't feel like playing for hours on those either so when that ends it's back to my more solitary hobbies. but just as you said, putting ideas into words that i like feels more like a chore than fun and that's when you know a hobby just isn't doing it for you anymore

this slump definitely started around the beginning of the year so i think it's a combo of the virus fatigue + me wanting to sort of "improve" myself this year that makes me want try new things. but again idk if it's just me going crazy from all this stuff or what

yeah same, my interest has been waning since easily last year (thanks to some castmate drama that really turned me off from bigger games but i don't want to go into that) but the beginning of this year was compounded a lot by corona

wanting to try out new things is great! you never know what you might fall in love with next. it's totally healthy.

aside from video games being "comfort food" mentally right now, i also have a personal goal of learning a musical instrument. i'm trying acoustic guitar and i feel incredibly uncoordinated and can't ever tell if it's tuned or not lol. youtube videos aren't helping much. i also don't live alone so it's hard to practice without being obnoxious. my hands are small and strain to reach the cords on the neck, so idk it might not be my thing (maybe an ukulele would feel more comfortable?), but i can't say i didn't try. i used to play piano in middle school but i've since forgotten everything, so something like that might feel like new again. i'd love to learn something more travel-friendly for the far distant future. (i'd love to make new friends and it feels like music might be a good ice-breaker... if you don't suck!)

i was also thinking of getting back into sewing again. i've seem some cute plushies on twitter that were inspirational a little and i still have a lot of old scrap fabric. though, honestly, i'd probably just make cat toys since i love to spoil my girls. they really love mice + feather toys
