Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I wish the mods and their cronies hadn't aggressively submarined the other mid-century horror game that came after mayfield

if it's the one i'm half remembering, it wasn't the mayfield mods, just a bunch of people being mad on the mayfield mods behalf.

especially considering the entire game was based off something from fallout 3. it wasn't even an original concept.

That’s always been the case with Mayfield-esque games. Anytime someone tries to make one that shares even a passing similarity to the original (set in the 1950s, brainwashing, Pleasantville brand horror) it always gets anon torpedoed. It’s hilarious because as it’s already been brought up, nothing about the original game was original. The premise was just Tranquility Lane from Fallout 3, many of the events were taken from Twilight Zone eps, etc.

God same. I would RUN one if I had the coding experience to make comms and info pages that didn't look like hot garbage.

I've had a similar concept percolating for a while now, but the last time I moved to get things going, one of my feedback anons really wanted me to aggressively change the whole thing to fit their vision, so I shelved it. now I don't think I have the time for it

the one incident I remember it wasn't just the premise, but that they were using some Mayfield specific NPCs such as the Milkman that was the real issue.
