I can't get the new dupe bug to work for me. Ugh, all I want to do is not be so far behind my friends in terms of my house so they'll stop making fun of me. I suck at tarantula/scorpion hunting too. I'm always going to be lagging behind...

Your friends are dicks, there's nothing wrong with going at your own pace and if they actually cared they'd assist you. Taking your time is just fine.

i feel like i'm slower than most and i made myself feel bad by making comparisons. i can't imagine friends actually doing that

don't get bummed by what anyone else is doing. animal crossing is a game that's designed to be played all year so there's absolutely no reason to rush. you just keep on keeping and having a good time at your own pace. there is so much more to the game than upgrading your house and making money!

fwiw a little story; i got the game for my friend about a month ago and she hasn't gotten k.k. slider yet. but she tells me loves the accidental extra duplicate songs i've given her. so now i go out of my way to buy two songs from the nook kiosk every day, one for me and one for her. she'll be a huge k.k. fan when he does arrive for her, and she'll be able to request whatever songs she likes! i always think of her now with k.k.

she loves fossil hunting and saves a lot of her extras for me, in turn. her favorite thing to do is put "wrong" fossils together to make weird monster dinosaurs. i like drawing those monsters on her message board.

good friends are gonna prop you up and help you along in this game, not make fun of you
