This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. - tagging someone or pming someone and not realizing (whether it's a sock or they changed their journal name or handle) that it's actually a player i have bad blood with

- warning someone they're playing with a wanker only to have them side with the wanker and turn on me, and then find someone so mysteriously grudgewanking about me or fabricating lies about me over the following days/weeks/months

- having a wank spotlight on me just because i play the same character as a wanker or have the same handle

- thinking i'm doing pretty good or pretty ok with a character only to have someone casually mention something about them or how i've been playing them that makes me question my entire characterization

All of those for me, anon. You hit the nail on the head.

- Getting threads dropped because I've done something wrong in my writing/characterization and not just because someone's busy or it's a meme or it's been x number of days/weeks.

- People telling me on plurk or in Discord that they want to play with me and like my tags but then never tag me back and don't use my opt-out or HMD to tell me what I'm doing wrong. I can never tell if they're just not into it or if they just dislike me and would rather I stop trying to tag them. I've opted to just not tagging people if they drop our threads 3 or more times, no matter how much they gush.

god +1 to that first one, especially if things start out boomeranging and slow down. my brain jumps straight to the fact that my characterization must somehow suck now, and not, y’know, the other person is busy

- building exciting, meaningful CR with my character, only to see their most important people drop in a row (has happened before but in games that were already stagnating. could easily happen in a healthy game as an unfortunate coincidence though).

- people randomly deciding to cancel me or deciding I suck for...reasons? I don’t think I have any cause to fear such a thing but I do anyway. too much time on twitter, maybe.

- losing my writing mojo and pushing myself to stay involved for fear of being forgotten about, only to then fall behind on tags and get more and more anxious about RPing while still hoping to claw things back, eventually earning myself title of unreliable flake and eventually having to drop in shame

When a castmate expresses surprise at my character's actions in the narration of a tag and I think that must mean I'm playing the character completely wrong and chose the least IC reaction.

Posting a tag to my work email by mistake and somehow cc-ing it to the whole company.

This was an actual nightmare that I had once. I was so relieved when I woke up and realized it wasn’t real.
