i know prisma is pretty much a de facto sex game, but can you still have a reasonable amount of fun and get cr if you have no interest in writing smut?

on my side, i haven't even written a kissing scene, let alone smut, and i have good (and i like to think fun!) cr here.

maybe it's just the cr i have, but i don't see as much smut going on at prisma as other people are reporting, so i think it's definitely possible to avoid that, if it's not your thing. i hope you have a good time if you decide to join us!

yup, just be totally honest about what you're here for on things like cr memes or a permissions post on your characters' journals

I'm here for smut but so far I haven't actually played it out because I'm enjoying building up relationships more at the moment. It's definitely possible, and the smut is optional anyway.

Absolutely you can. Just don't turn into one of those people that insists Prismatica totally isn't a sex game and has their character play 'think of the children' police on the network. You're good if you personally don't want to play smutty stuff, just don't be a dick about it.

My own beefs aside, there's a lot of gen stuff to do and so many characters that you're sure to find some your character clicks with as friends. I'm getting plenty of smut but a lot of my favorite threads and cr have been gen!

Attitude is key here. A majority of players are here for smut, but no one is going to shame you for preferring gen. Just don't go insisting Prismatica isn't a sex game or shame others for playing in it as such.

Yes, thank you for bringing up that first point. It's okay to be in the game and want to play smutty stuff. It's okay to be in the game and play only gen. And people in either category deserve respect for their choices in that regard.

I'm one of those players that's in both camps. The game may be massive and be sandbox-like because of it, but I'm a huge sucker for trying to stitch plot points together across events where I can. Fights, slice of life, comedy, romance, angst, smut because the thirst is real in this game; imma have a blast with it all!

And I write with people who don't do smut and there's no crossover/pressure on either side.

there are definitely people here for smut, people who don’t want to smut at all, and plenty in between. the game’s big anyways. just be upfront and chill about it and you should be fine.

i've been in the game for quite a few months and haven't done any smut threads yet. i plan to eventually when my character is ready for it but so far i've had loads of fun with gen and plot things with people here!

Absolutely. A majority of my CR is gen and I enjoy having it stay that way. I doubt I am the only one. Just be clear about what you're looking for and seek out likeminded individuals. Communication and respect of player comfort levels are always important.

yes, absolutely you can. i will say the vast majority of folks are here for smut, but everyone will respect you if you are in it only for gen.

that said a significant portion of the events (when they don't revolve around untouchable npcs or are just empty padding) are tailored towards getting your characters to canoodled, or at the very least touching each other. the moonblessings themselves also offer "personality" changes as a mechanic so ime there's a few players who take advantage of that to have their characters flagrantly ooc just for the sake of facilitating smut. which is fine once in a while but moonblessings are a routine, monthly thing.

disclaimer: i'm not trying to imply all sex games = ooc players, just that prisma offers monthly in-game mechanics specifically for it and a few players here care more about hopping on as many dicks as possible and not about their characterization. the rest of the majority of the game is either great or at least passable with the characterizations, especially re: sex

the good news is they're pretty obvious once you find the onlycurraboutsmutcred types so you can avoid them since they probably will be ooc for your gen stuff also. all sex games have a small percentage of these types, just prisma has a mechanic that encourages them.

My character is happily monogamous so most of my CR is gen which has been absolutely fine it hasn't been a weird thing at all. I'm sure that I get passed over by a lot of people BECAUSE my character has no interest in sleeping with theirs, but I have enough people who do play with me that it isn't a bother.

late to the game, but yes!

i have a social character and a less social character. neither have smutted, but i get a lot of cr regardless. the social one is more a huggy type so that is how i play the whole chroma thing. just that though. hugging, maybe a shoulder clasp, arm grab, etc. just talk it out first and people are good. i've actually been in a lot of smut games and this one is very casual and relaxed. the events can be worked around as well. you can just have your character hug another. they don't force sex.
