- I love the concept of a multiverse traveler that interviews people from many dimensions on their lives, philosophies, views on life and death, and the like. While I thought of playing him on memes, I've also wondered, which game would be the best fit for him? I'd like to have him interview characters, but also go on adventures and evolve as well.

- Related, from what I understand, he is sort of a manchild that knows about meditation, doing pot in order to get a higher consciousness, and all sorts of things, but that he has little idea in how to apply it to everyday life and owning up to his own mistakes.

I've already seen the whole series, and I do sort of understand his problem is that he's still immature for all the philosophies he hears and absorbs, that he only comes to terms with in the final episode. However, I would also love pointers and observations regarding his character, given the series is half the conversations Clancy has, and half the events happening around him and the person he is interviewing.

it would be an interesting line to walk because of the way he sort of devolves back into being Duncan's actual persona in the last couple of episodes, talking to his (Duncan's) mom before her death, etc. I think if I were you I'd want to be careful to maybe avoid the elements of his character that are drawn directly from Duncan, otherwise IMO it's crossing into RPF.

(Sort of) fortunately for me, I didn't even know about Duncan's podcast before this show, so I figured Clancy was closer to an immature slacker more than anything else.

Maybe some headcanon with him having a mostly normal family, facing through that crisis, and then moving out and having troubles with them due to him becoming an escapist with his multiverse machine and depending on his Spacecast to keep himself afloat.

I was thinking of playing him closer to the first episodes, but with a tinge of the maturity gained in the last episodes, so I can both have his character development and allow him to mess up and get in trouble.

I think that's a good idea, just keep in mind the line between him and Duncan is quite thin, though IMO not much moreso than playing a TAZ character or whatever. you could probably get most stuff out of his characterisation outside of the podcast bits and then use the podcast elements as a general "arc". I would, for instance, maybe stay away from the stuff about Duncan's mom's death (personally I would find that pretty tasteless if I saw someone using it for RP), but all the bits about stealing the oil and the pies and things would be fine.

Gonna be honest, I didn't even know who Duncan was before this show, though I'd do well in avoiding such details nonetheless. I was thinking of headcanoning a lot of stuff regarding him nonetheless, but yeah. Mostly treating the podcast elements as a a story arc, and mostly treating the death of Clancy's mom as something he's mostly come to terms with, that he'd perhaps only bring up passingly. Many details from the final episode's dialogue, for instance, better left omitted since they are too specific to Duncan's life.

I want to play more on the angle of him visiting various universes to interview people on their life philosophies and him fucking up due to being a slacker and a moron, while at the same time learning to adult and learning of new lives and ideas from various peoples.
